Props to Montiel for telling it how it is and not making excuses. Boxing needs more fighters like this who fight the best and for fans to realize when they lose their career is not over. War Fernando!

That's the way a real fighter handles defeat, accepting it with NO excuses & giving props to the man that beat him... But to say that some fighters dream of getting knocked out is kind of off the wall!!! I could understand as a fighter they gotta be realistic & should be prepared to expect anything but at the same time they should think positive & look forward to a successful future & NOT to dream of receiving a devastating KO, that just doesn't do it!!! In a way I think Montiel had doubts about winning cause in an interview before the fight against Donaire he said that winning was NOT important, that the important thing is that at the end of the fight, who the fans would like to see again!!! In this case, that would be Donaire... Even thou knowing the caliber of fighter Montiel is & after seeing him fight many times, I would also like to see him again.. By hearing the manner in which Montiel is handling this defeat it seems that it won't affect him much & he'll be successful again..

I think he was hurt more than hes letting on. Peoples legs dont just spasm out of control like that from a flash ko.

That's the man.. try climbing back to the top mr Montiel, however, don't dream of a rematch with Donaire, and don't go north of your weight just yet.. wait Donaire to do so then try dominating the Bantam for titles once Donaire left for Featherweights!

Are you on crack? He release a presser saying that he has never been that hurt in his whole life as much as Nonito hurt him.

It would be better to get another horse to race, not unless you're a sadist...

Is this a HBO 24/7 aftermath???
Donaire might put Montiel on vegetables seat if the rematch occur!
i rather see moreno since he has a belt and the winner of Mares/Agbeko.

It shows he has balls and is willing to accept that he was beaten by a better man that night and is happy to move on from this.

I always said from the start that Nonito will knock him out before 10 rounds (only 8 rounds off LOL) and I always wanted Nonito to win, but in losing, Montiel has just earned himself another fan, he has huge heart and is a classy dude.

Good luck to this dude in the future, I hope he comes back strong.
                    lol................

Montiel is still in denial, he got beat so fast and so easily that he can't fully accept that nonito just beat him to the punch. His pride won't allow him to admit he lost so easily, as that would take away all of his accomplishments, so instead he's looking for instances in the fight to prove he was competitive.

No montiel you weren't dominating the 2nd round, as nonito was dominating the first minute of that round. If you want to see a lucky ko, you should just look back on your fight with hasegawa.
