Hopkins had no business fighting DeLaHoya, or a blown up Tito, etc, etc, se how the argument works. Bottom line is Roy did something that hasn't been accomplished in over a century since Bob Fitzsimmons....the man deserves his credit. And to those who think Roy was only athleticism and no boxing skill, please, you dont know what you are talking about. Orthodox, no, but he had phenomenal boxing iq, it just takes looking at the subtle details that you people are obviously missing. Also, all these bums he faced, were or became world champions, and Jones did beat the hell out of Reggie Johnson at 175, and has fought more titlists than anyone you can name off the top of your head, 20 if Im not mistaken, and fought over 30 title fights. Stop being ridiculous and give this legend his due. Problem is yall love to hate the great ones

Glen Johnson …..14 loses 2 draws and has won 1 world championship fight……….that just show us how great roy jones jr was….haha!

No JRambo, it just shows that you never liked Roy. Problem with haters is it blinds them to give credit where its due. He just came off getting ko'd by Tarver, four months later, he didnt fight well. Johnson is a roughneck, a tough customer and a fine champion. Losing to Glen Johnson leaves no bad credit to me. Ali lost to Leon Spinks in Spinks 8th pro fight. Nothing you say has any relevance whatsoever. Your just a hater. HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY!

Before I joined this forum I used to think Jones was one of the best ever and the more I read into things and understand facts the less and less I think of him as time goes on.

He did have a solid run at 175 and the Toney win was probably the best of his career.

Its disheartening how many excuses he made about weight when even though he won but didn't look great against Tarver the 1st time.

I am not going to get into it but I have on several occasions busted this "he lost 20lbs of muscle myth" as a reason why he lost the rematch.

NAh, Jones is the best fighter since SRL. By far.

He is better than Floyd(no offense) and ****s all over Pac(sorry). Hopkins can't beat him in their primes and neither could Toney. Haters going to hate.

he beat pretty much everyone there was to beat at supermiddleweight which was a fairly empty division, besides the protected english men(more so eubank)
Calling Benn protected is just about is just as ****** as calling Toney the GOAT at 168 ..pure ******ity imo

those were really good wins right there, not to mention his accomplishments at 160lbs.

the other top guys were Benn, Eubank and Nun...one of those he already had a win over, and I dont see how Eubank or Benn should have been higher than Toney at the time.
Well Benn Beat Barkley, Williams, and some of Toneys other notable wins well before Toney did tho ! I am not claiming Benn or Eubank would of beat james but to claim Toney was the best at 168 when he didnt really face anybody at that weight is pure nonsense imo

RJJ's legacy consists of 2 legit wins. A prime toney and Bhop. He's an HBO fraud. Fun to watch, but a bum killer.

Thats prolly ture but if resume is the biggest part like everybody says then Floyd *****s him easy. The inconsistency is insane with posters here. Because still Roy is a top 10 Atg on some list and GOAT at middle weight on many lists. What is it fellas resume, eye test, belts, tall tales or just hate for certain fighters?
