Corrales is highly overrated these days. Barrera is a much better fighter and a much more accomplished fighter.

you are aware that junior jones was a badass right? are you also aware that barrera reinvented himself and fought nothing like he did when he lost to jones right? he was a completely different fighter by the time he fought pac.

since you want to bring up that diego and floyd were both young fighters on the pfp list, why don't you also bring up that pac was NOWHERE NEAR anyone's PFP list yet he beat a mainstay PFP fighter, one that lasted a lot longer on people's pfp lists than diego corrales did.

so a guy who noone is talking about being a pfp type guy beating a real deal pfp guy should be a better win that a pfp guy beating another pfp type guy at the same weight. not to mention that mab was and always will be > corrales

look, I"m not trying to say corrales wasn't a very good fighter. but he wasn't a great fighter. keep in mind that the thread topic is which win was more impressive. i don't believe corrales deserved to be ranked as high pfp as he was at the time, and history has shown that to be true. i base my pfp rankings on actual experience and results vs true top tier competition. corrales had 0 fights against any top tier/elite guys when he fought floyd. ZERO, not one and definitely not two or arguably three like barrera did. being undefeated doesn't mean shi t to me if you ain't fought anyone.
did i discredit junior jones in any way?once again what did i ever say that makes you assume that i didn't know that barrera became a better boxer after his losses to jones?
my question was why is barrera a great fighter but not corrales.do you pay attention to what you read or do you just post what you want?if you want to reply to my question than answer it,i know what question of the thread is but in reading most of the post in this thread most are makin chico out to be some overrated fighter and barrera an all time greart and i really don't see that much of a difference between to 2 fighters resume besides the fact that hey fought in different weight classes.
1 thing about pacquiao is that all his wins are considered great wins because how he is looked at his opponets don't even have to be at their best just the fact that people look at him as little or unknown is what make his wins a big deal but that doesn't necessarily mean the opponents are great comp at the time but the barrera fight was and is probably mannys best win

As great of a win as Pac had against Barrera in their first fight Marco had already been through countless wars and was probably no longer in his prime, but Pac still KO Barrera and he gets full credit for that.

However, Mayweather fought a young, undefeated, and prime Corrales. At the time of the fight both guys were on the p4p list. Furthermore, Floyd put on one of the best boxing exhibitions I've ever seen. Floyd proceeded to knock Corrales down 5 TIMES and got the KO in the tenth round. Who thought a much smaller Mayweather would KO the power punching Corrales? That performance is without a doubt one of the best boxing performances I've ever seen, that's the stuff legends are made of.

        Thoughts?
the pacquiao that day is a not the pacquiao of today.

the PBF that day is one that i love a complete superb offensive on defensive

style.. anyway he cant be beaten unless he fights a legit guy that can

CHALLENGE HIM enough and his days are numbered he is getting older in age

but not in his boxing age.

the question is who is corrales compared to barrera??

Barrera a future HOF and top 5 lbs4lbs that days....

anyway skills of PBF is unmatched that day..

you kept saying that barrera lost 2x to junior jones as a ***** in barrera's resume, i say his losses to jones have almost nothing to do withwhat type of fighter pac faced that night.

i answered this in my post you quoted and the one before it. corrales was never a great fighter

there's nothing I can do about this, but you are 100% wrong.

here is where you are losing me, doesn't appear that you are REALLY looking at the fights individually, makes me think you have an anti-pac agenda or are simply allowing your views of the rest of pac's career to cloud your judgement on the topic if this thread.

              i agree
**** pacquiao and **** floyd and even though me and you are the ones going back and forth this is not directed directly towards you but what i am askin is what is the big difference between barrera and chico career wise when they both pretty much beat everyone they were supposed to in their individual weight classes and both of them lost to what would eventually be considered the greatest fighters in the sport at this time ?

                Pac>Barrera better victory by far
Barrera lineal champion having strong run at the top
Corrales was unbeaten but far inferior to Barrera, also going to jail
love Chico but he is overrated by many

                  @ Brady

are you trying to insinuate that Barrera and Corrales were on the same level in terms of greatness?

i agree 100000000000000% with the bold.

i understand what you are saying about beating everyone in their weight classes, but you hae to look at who those people were. corrales' career was cut short and he took a horrible beating from clottey. barrera has wins on his resume that corrales just can't match, you are downplaying that barrera beat moralesx2 and hamed, which are wins that corrales just doesn't approach.

you keep writing that that's all you see as the difference, but just for starters, that's a HUGE deal as far as resumes go., wins over hof fighters and particularly the wins over morales are not easy to come by, look at morales career.

barrera was a far more versatile fighter. corrales was really a top notch brawler type. he got chopped up badly in his mouth by casa and lost2 of 3 to casa. he got his ass beat a few times and never really beat a boxer (unless you want to consider smoke)

i understand that some people seem to be shi tting on corrales in this thread, probably just to try and discredit floyd and that's just not right. but those fools aren't the type to stand up and defend their posts. they're just like the ts who only replies to posts that agree with him or argues his point one time then heads for the hills.
