Which win is more impressive, Mayweather vs Corrales or Pacquiao vs Barrera 1?

You're actually coming off as a hater right there. To say Chico is not even close to being a HOF'er is really ridiculous and just being a hater or is just pure fanboyism exaggeration.

I don't think for a second that Chico was better than MAB, but Chico wasn't this slouch that I see people trying to make him out to be. He beat some good fighters and had a career outside of the Floyd Jr fight.

I agree, he had a very good career...I think he is a borderline HOF'er...Would I vote for him? Maybe not, but I'm hard a judge I wouldn't vote for a lot of guys in the HOF. I wouldn't vote Cotto in either. I'm just a hard judge.

But, could he get in? Yes he can...I mean he's fight alone with Castillo could get him in. That was arguably the greatest fight in the modern era. And, he came out victorious in that fight.

Hell if Barry McGuigan is in the HOF then damn sure Corrales can get it.

anyway, impression is a state of mind. for normal people, what impresses you most is the one you least expected to happen. and in this case, and for all logical reasons, pac beating barrera in a dominating fashion is the least expected. it's a no-brainer really.

Of course, it did take a lot of luster off. And, I think the first fight just kind of ruined both fighters. I think it was smart on Corrales to no go on with the 3rd fight when Castillo failed to make weight again. Which was ridiculous on Castillo part.

A rematch with Floyd? The same outcome Floyd is something serious. Especially in the lower weight-class. Is not a knock on Corrales is just Floyd was on another level... And, the style worked on Floyd favor also...

This is clear, the Barrera fight was Pacman's coming out party and a terrific performance the Corrales performance was and all timer. Two undefeated fighters, neither had ever been on the canvas, Corrales was the favorite, they were both dominating their opposition.

Floyd knocked out the KO artist and showed every skill a fighter is supposed to possess. People are claiming that Corrales isn't an all time great but who knows how his career was altered by the loss and the consequent stint in the slammer.

What we are criticizing Bradley and Alexander for is that in that match up of undefeated fighters neither man distinguished themselves the way Floyd was able to in his fight with Corrales.

Pacquaio's win was one where my boy Kino and I both predicted. And PacMan dominated Barrera in a way no one had done to that point. Even Junior Jones couldn't do that....

But there is something to beating an undefeated monster the way that Mayweather did that gives him the edge here

corrales (R.I.P.) was a limited slugger/brawler who didn't use his size or reach or height advantage. mab could do it all, brawl, box, punch, counterpunch, etc....

^^this. Pac had not yet learned how to properly utilize his right hand + in-out movement and was expected to lose, shocked everyone by moving up and dominating MAB. The rest is a historical.

Mayweather's victory over Corrales was great, but Corrales is not an elite ATG like MAB.
