Black peoples still support their black boxers but they haven't lately because there's nobody that's important enough to support at the moment. The only one they really support most at the moment is Floyd but he's such an azz so they really don't want to support him. Plus Floyd doesn't have the most pleasing style for them to support. They're waiting for someone like another Tyson to come along.

You can bet that if Pac was black you wouldn't have this thread.

What? Only people I know who follow boxing are black or latino.

Why is that sad? Your color shouldn't even matter. It's sad that you think it still does.

Floyd rant on Pacquiao...black people: Not racist

Security guard check Floyd ID...black people: Racist
I am a boxing fanatic and it doesnt matter what your color is when it comes to who i support. I just have to speak up when other races ridicule Floyd with that old "Shut up and box n*****" attitude from 1920. And I am definitely against America looking for a great white hope so they glorify boxers like Malignaggi who really should shut up and box because your skills dont match your mouth right now. ( I do feel him on the Diaz fight though). I also dont understand why white Americans and Euros beef on here because yall are the same people though a lot of these rednecks think they sprouted out of the ground in Jamestown.

Also we ain't talking about why black people ain't becoming boxers anymore the thread is about why don't black people buy tickets for fights.
The ratio of rich boxers is far less than any other major sports. Now on subject, People as a whole dont give a damn about boxing anymore. If they did i wouldn't get on here with some of these silly MF's just to talk about boxing. Most people I know white and black are totally uneducated when it comes to boxing. Its not the peoples fault. Its terrible marketing by Boxing. You know why a lot of people buy i-pads? Because every other commercial break they can see it. Maybe those greedy sanctioning bodies should spend some money on a 30 second slot during Jersey shore or The Game. It would pay off.

Boxing is kinda dead to most of us ever since Tyson fell apart some stop caring about the Sport and in the 90's you had Holyfield ,Bowe Tyson, Foreman, Moorer good black HeavyWeights its was the most important division back then and there always has been good Black HeavyWeights to follow right now none left when a another tyson or Holyfield comes along the support will come back strong and Floyd is WelterWeight and the best Black fighter we have today but But its about the good black HeavyWeight

Floyd was the most succesful black boxer of recent times.

Floyd was arrogant and, to tell the truth, not the sharpest tool in sports. People prefer champs who are good role models. Guys like Jordan, Roy Jones, Lewis and the new improved George Foreman.

Floyd being such a great talent combined with such a diva ego has kinda pushed a lot of people away from the sport.

Tyson talked loud but we always remember the sweet, humble student of boxing in Tyson and that charms us.

Floyd has never displayed that. He just says I'm the best.

What's really sad is I'm a white guy and and can't name my favorite white boxer as of right now. Actually I take that back and I'll give it to Litzau, but that has more to do with him being from MN(my home state) than white. To be honest if I turned on a fight and it was a white guy vs a mexican I'd probably root for the Mexican. Damn Mexicans have so many great things, like tacos, maracas, fighters who fight, the pinata, the musics fun, and lets not forget smoking hot women. I think I was Mexican in a past lifetime.

Boxing has fallen off big time in the US since it went off network television but if you look at the top fighters by demographic you will see that African Americans are by far get the worst fan support when it comes to live gates.

I don't think that it's as much that black people have gone away from the sport, I think white people are the ones that have gone away. Like I said earlier in the past it was usually white faces in the crowd when the major fights went on involving black fighters.

Having said that there still has to be some big drop off when it comes to AA supporting their fighters. I remember Pettway vs. Brown had a lot of AA in the crowd in the mid 90's. Also Holyfield vs. Vaugh Bean had a lot of AA in the crowd when they fought in Atlanta in the late 90's.

Right now outside of Floyd Mayweather there ain't an AA that can draw flies to ****.

                      ,
It's because the top Black fighter of today was Floyd who happens to be nothing to be Proud of.

If I am Black, who will be my Hero in boxing of today? Floyd's a Coward, a racist, a woman beater, security guard beater,an azz hole , all the negative stuff in the best Black fighter.

Next will be Pwill, but the guy got schooled by Quintana before he even become a superstar. He's almost there then got Koed in 2 by Martinez.

Bradley will not be a Superstar, no powerr no draw! Devon was already schooled in his last fight.

The good guy image is Mosley, but he cant win it all. He'll be always relegated as the B guy! Side B to DLH, PBF & Pac.

AS of now I dont see nothing on the Horizon among African American boxing to rally the whole America. Maybe in football & Basketball, although most of them were bad boy themselves, Kobe, Lebron, M Vick, Tiger, were there in the Mainstream. BUt these guys were actively playing their sports. Floyd's Not!!!
