What the **** does that mean? He lost the fight by KO therefore it doesn't count? Argh!!!!!

Where does your perspective come from?

Ok, now read this really closely; if a fighter wins a championship, unification fight by third round KO, it counts big time. It means he proved beyond all doubt, at that time at least, who the better guy was. If he had knocked him out in the twelfth he would that have proved better in your eyes? He won the fight in the third round. That's all that counts in boxing.

Austin was undefeated and favored in their bout, and then he proceeded to get knocked out, knocked out of the ring even. This knockout came just after Austins corner yelled out to Marquez' corner, "Its almost over now!", implying that Timmy was going to win.

Too Sharp, was highly regarded as well and at the time he fought Marquez, had only one loss.

Both, got knocked out by Rafa.

Forget about this thread. I've been completely owned. I forgot about the great Too Sharp Johnson and Tim Austin. Two ATG and future HOF. Silly me.

I'm Mexican-American but to my Mexican brothers, we have to give credit where credit is due. I agree with this thread unless you count Duran, he's half Mexican, but other than that I agree with the TS.

IMHO Castillo beat PBF the first time but we have to go by the official decision.

Mexicans are always able to compete against great AA but they usually come-up short. With better trainers I honestly believe that Mexican greats can beat AA greats but as for now the TS is correct.
