Floyd has never fought the best. He will either retire or make excuses not to fight the best. Thats why he is no where near pac in the all time great standings. He needs to change his tune or his legacy will be tarnished forever.

Im not talking about that situation im talking about after Hatton and Oscar. Im not mad at Floyd for making money against Baldomir,Hatton and Oscar. But if he is really about that money and is an all time great it doesnt make sense that he would avoid Cotto in 07 when that was the money fight at the time and Pac now which would be the biggest money fight of his career. I dont have any links but those of us who have been watching the fights can probably remember that Cotto said on a couple occasions that he cant make Floyd fight him and that Mayweather is a fighter who avoids challenges. I can also recall clearly that when Merchant asked Floyd about Cotto he made the retirement comment that i quoted earlier. As far as blood tests go thats another joke. Why would you ask for tests in the first place if you werent shook to death from what you saw him do in the ring? He never asked any other opponent for those tests and Manny has never failed a drug test previously. Im not saying Mayweather isnt a great fighter because he is and he would be favored over Cotto and Pac imo if those fights were ever made but the dude is a duck.

Floyd agreed to fight in January. By asking for OST does this mean he doesn't want fight? As of last week he was meeting with King to come to an agreement to get the fight made. Because he didn't does that mean he doesn't want fight? Manny refused the 14 day compromise floyd made (again to get fight made). manny refused and now because floyd wont compromise again its him who doesn't want fight? Cmon man really?

What about Manny? Just like floyd's vacations coming up at the right time, Manny has a knack for deferring to his promoter. "I'll fight who my promoter tells me". Isn't that lucky. So if the fight doesn't happen its because Bob told him not to. Why doesn't manny ask Bob why Bob doesn't want him to fight in what could be the biggest fight in history?

Please dont over estimate Cotto's value in 07. He was not a PPV star, nor had he any fights at 147. He was the next big PR star for sure but not a big money guy. Let me ask it to you this way.

It was the fight that HBO and the fans wanted and the next big payday for Floyd at the time. It was the only logical choice and Floyd retired. Look at now the only logical fight is Manny and he goes on vacation.

Logical or not, no offer from Cotto was sent. Now the Pacquiao situation is different because at least Pacquiao started negotiating with Floyd but the negotiations fell through. Now Arum is trying to contact Floyd again to negotiate so we'll see what happens. We don't know for sure that they won't fight next spring.

Im not a Pac fan but i respect what he has been doing in the ring lately. The funny thing is i favor Mayweather over Pac if that fight gets made so the idea that im saying this out of hate or because im a fan of Manny just isnt true. i'm puerto rican and from n.y. so i am also a fan of cotto and have seen each of his fights and i don't ever remember him sayin that he wanted to fight floyd.you say that for those of you who watch cotto fights remember that cotto said he can't make floyd fight him but when did he say this? after what fight?un like you i'm not blinded by the fact that i'm puerto rican, floyd was asked about miguel on many occasions and yes he more or less dismissed a fight with miguel but at the same time no one is askin miguel about floyd and if he was all he would say is you gotta talk to bob so if you wanted cotto and floyd to fight maybe you should of told bob arum and cotto to step up and actually challenge the best fighter instead of lettin reportrs ask him questions about you while you chill and say nothing
