in boxing fire signs are one of the worst signs. the best is earth followed by water and air.

Capricorn obviously dominates boxing history. Many good tauruses and then virgos also.

Not many fire signs. They generally have no chin and not much technique.

yup. that is in the sun.

fire signs are great as ascendants however.

both sugar rays as well as frazier have saggitarian ascending.

      ali has leo ascending.

this is what's interesting about astrology. the layers.

Fire signs are too impatient to be sucessful in boxing. They need heavy earth\water infleunces to balance them out.

Do you guys think the planet Mercury has a strong effect on boxing as well?

I've been studying the planet Mercury's effect on boxing for a few months now and I think its effects are tangible.

Lets take a look at two hall of fame Capricorn boxers: Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones.

Bernard Hopkins is a Capricorn Sun with a Capricorn Mercury; Roy Jones on the other hand is a Capricorn Sun with an Aquarius Mercury.

Roy's style was actually very Aquarian like: unorthodox, fixed, uncanny yet brilliant.

Bernard's style is more what you'd expect from a typical Capricorn: hard nosed, focused, cautious and hard working.

Sergio Martinez also has a Mercury in Aquarius. Sergio's boxing idol is Roy Jones and his style, like Roy's, is very quirky and unorthodox.

you people are focusing on insignificant **** which shows you're not understanding astrology properly. The signs don't matter whatsoever. You can be any sign in any planet and still be the greatest boxer of all time. What matters most is your aspects, your configurations etc. Mars conjunct pluto or something like that is far more important than what sign either of those planets are in

Mars is fall in Cancer (weak) -4

The strength of Mars is determined on its essential dignities and it's placements in the houses. The strongest place for Mars is on the angles, on the ASC, IC, DC, and Midheaven

Pisces is not weak, Sam Langford has his Sun in Pisces he also has grandtrines in earth.
Langford fought from lightweight to heavyweight.

Floyd Mayweathers chart has Mars in Aquarius, but it squares Uranus which would make him fight for what he believes in. Floyd Mayweather has a squared jaw, which indicates to me his Ascendant is a fixed sign. Which one is it? I don't know

Cardinal signs = Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn - There faces are round and oval
Fixed signs = Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius - There faces are rectangular
Mutable = Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces - There faces are long and taper

This is not realted to sun signs, but the Ascendant (first house).

Astrology cannot determine if your great fighter or not. They can determine your character, but thats different.

Modern astrology uses the art to determine character and psychology
Traditional astrology, 1200 years ago in Persia used it to predict future events

The difference between the two is the modern only focus on non physical things like the psyche and the traditionalist only cared about physical things like wealth and ones health

very analytical post however all points have been considered.

astrology can not determine you're a great fighter or not but it can give you a basis for potential. if everybody trains the same art for roughly the same period then this is when astrology begin to matter. and i've stated this many times in this thread.

sam langford would fall in the exception not the rule category for every sam langford level fighter i can literally list 20 capricorn fighters who stand in the same place of history as him or higher.

and to consider the detriments and the domicle of mars for example...... the simple truth is reality does not support that theory.

fact = Mars in Taurus is the single best placement for boxing as 2 of the GOATs both have their placement there while Mars in Aries is not even represented if at all.

Mars is the planet of war and boxing/fighting is the perfect study pool to analyze that theory.

Scorpio, compare how a young $ and young Mike Tyson, confirmed Scorpio Asc, speaking and you'll see similarities.

the planet in which the aspects take place absolutely matters.

for example mars conjunct saturn in libra is a great example.

when mars is conjunct saturn in libra the saturn aspect overwhelms the mars and slows the mars/action aspects down. i can literally list 100 of these examples.

however if mars is conjunct saturn in leo then saturn gets over-come.

                  are you aware of this?

No the signs that the planets are in does not matter any where near as much as the ASPECTS the planets make. In astrology aspects rule not signs.

Signs of a planet give you just a very vague filter through which to view the energy that planet expresses. However the aspect shows you in exactly which way those planets harmonize and interact and exactly how the express that energy. Obviously you get a clearer picture using both (the sign AND aspect) but if I had to choose one I'd need only the aspects to tell everything I need to know about someone, whereas with just the signs you will never get a complete picture.

trust me we know. Floyd Jr has the godliest Mars I ever seen in my life. His Sun isn't traditionally known for being great at boxing, but his Mars is a killer.
