You folks can say anything you want about Arum, but he has proven time and again that he is a great promoter. How many of you *****ed about and threatened to boycott the Pac-Margarito fight and pronounced that it would never do more than 700K PPV buys? Where did the 1.15M PPV audience come from?

Arum is right in saying that hardcore boxing fans only account for around 150K buys, while the majority are casual fans who will only watch 'name' fighters. Even Marquez and Berto combined in one card could only pull in a paying audience of <5000. I would be surprised if it did 300K PPV buys.

The fact is that Arum knows what sells and what doesn't. If his cards keep selling, it only means that casual fans keep getting hooked to boxing, and the sport as a whole remains viable regardless of the *****ing and whining among its hardcore fans.

Im also kind of surprised you would suggest for him to take a catchweight fight. Im not attacking your opinion I just think he's reached the point Floyd did, its either keep moving up or take tune ups. After Berto there in absolutely nobody left at WW.
why is it that pacquiao will have to accommodate these fighters. they are the challengers. pacquiao dictates the terms if they dont like it they can take a hike. it will take them at least six fights to make the same money for a pacquiao fight.

Pac no longer needs to prove anything more to you or anyone else. His legacy is already secure. If you still aren't a fan after all this time, then you will never be. He is only fighting his last 2 or 3 bouts to entertain people and pull in funds for his political career.

Let's face it, except for a possible bout with Floyd or a gross mismatch against Martinez, any other opponent will be *****ed about by hardcore fans. Some would even prefer if he just retires if he and Floyd can't get it on. But the fact is that whoever Pac fights, people will watch because the guy brings excitement for casual fans. So, let's quit all the talk about needing to prove himself further and just enjoy the show while it lasts.

          LOL ******?

if you will summarize them all, they want pac to fight them in 1 night or else he is ducking the others.

They don't even mention where floyd is.

hahaha all roads leads to pac!

Yeah, everyone has a horse in this derby, and whoever doesn't get picked is being ducked. In the meantime, one horse is on vacation and no one is *****ing about him. You just can't win with these *****s.

I am very curious to see this matchup more so than Mosley and Marquez, because of Berto is a young hungry fighter.
I want to see that fight too...

Problem is, boxing today is business first. Money dictates fights.

Why are they blaming Pacquiao for his actions. He earned where he is now..

That's what De La Hoya was doing before and Floyd is doing now. I'm sure that's what will Berto do when and if he is the draw...

In that case, Mayweather is right all along that title belt just collect dust and is paperweight. Imagine, Berto defended his WBC belt, I think 3 times has no right to fight someone like Pacquiao? While Clottey and Margarito who have nothing when fought Pacquiao has right ? I think we should just encourage the promoters to Match up Stallone vs. Schwarzenegger box for HBO PPV. LOL!

                  Well said...

Most boxing historians are saying Pac is one if not the most exciting boxer ever. And his kind come once in a lifetime.

And they keep on saying enjoy the show while it last. And these haters keep on saying these BS. If Pac quits right now... I don't know what will happen to boxing

Berto defended his title to a guy rated #10 but is a class C boxer.
Clottey and Margarito have nothing but are considered at least among the top 5 at 147.

Barrera gave up his belt when Pacquiao fought him the first time but was considered the best in his weight class

If Berto fought someone among the top three, maybe more people would recognize him and increase his drawing power and Arum might choose him to fight Pacquiao next

Maybe they should have a twin header :

                      Pacquiao - Mosley

                      Marquez - Berto

Winner vs. winner. People would surely buy this PPV if this is the setup. All of them have just completed their last fights so everybody's free.
