After Floyd beat Oscar, I was on here saying I wanted to see him fight Hatton, Mosley and Taylor. He KO'd Hatton, Mosley lost to Cotto, and Taylor lost to Pavlik. Otherwise, I'm sure he would have fought Mosley sooner and maybe tried Taylor. I'm a Taylor fan, and I know Floyd would have beaten him.

You know everyone wanted to see Hatton-Mayweather in 2007.

Right now everyone wants to see Mayweather/Pacquiao-Martinez.

Very different scenario from what happened in 2007. Nobody, and I mean not even the hardcore Floyd haters, were asking for Floyd to stay at 154 or go up to 160.
Yea right, the fight everbody wanted to see in 2007 was Margarito or Cotto. So what happened when it came to Margarito : Mayweather wasn't fight to see who the best was. And when it came to Cotto : Cotto live in Pureto Rico so it was to far LOL.

maybe because it wasn't a vacant belt against unranked opponent? Manny is not a champ at 154

Damn, I've never realized this. Good point. Bump this thread until someone answers it clearly.

Well, since Pac is NOT a champ at 154, which I agree, and Mayweather was, shouldn't Mayweather had all the more reasons to defend the belt than Pac?

It's foolish for anyone to suggest that Manny should fight Sergio. Floyd doesn't have to either, though it's an intriguing fantasy fight. Weight classes exist for a reason, and when you disrespect that you end up P-Will'd.

I don't know about that man. Especially not at that time. The most recent Floyd that fought Mosley would have had a better chance, but Taylor was defense proof at the time. His awkward style made both Hopkins and Winky have to abandon their winning formulas and fight. It would have been the same with Floyd.

This is a very flawed way of thinking. People wanna see fights where they feel like there would be competition. No one clamoured for Manny to defend his 135 belt because no one was there the general public wanted to see. No one beat the drums for Floyd to defend his 154 belt because most thought his competition was at 147. I don't like your revisionist stance on this. It only make it sound like u wanna open the back door for Manny andjustify why he shouldn't do it. If you're so angry about it, who at 154 did YOU wanna see him defend his belt against in 2007? I promise u the name u come up with will not be as appetizing for the general public as Cotto, Margo, Mosley, and Hatton? For Christ sakes, Manny wasn't even being mentioned as an opponent for Floyd then.

Stick to the script! And thanks for ur hate allowing u to answer the question. Nobody was on the radar at 154 so the public didn't demand him to fight anyone there, as proof by who YOU wanted him to fight at the time. Just so happen Pac got a 154 belt while someone else at that division has a spark. He gets no pity from me.
