pretending somebody isn't a draw is classic ducking mentality.
He did a million with Pac because of Pac. Margarito is not a draw and will never be a draw.
Let's use your ****** logic... Are you saying Mosley is also a draw because he sold over 500K with DLH and sold 1.4 million with Floyd?

If you were in Floyd's shoes, would it make much sense to to fight these guys at THAT POINT IN TIME?????? You already proved your worth at 147 a mere year before by beating the top 2 guys in Judah and Baldo, WHY WASTE YOUR TIME WITH NEW BLOOD THAT WEREN'T EVEN AROUND AT THE TIME?
Those were the time and fights i wanted to happen but never came to fruitition because Mayweather was retired, I dont blame him for retiring because thats his choice but i do not agree with his retirement.

You keep harping on Floyd's ducking of Margartio, but CONVENIENTLY GLANCE OVER KEY FACTORS
1) HE WAS HAVING CONTRACTUAL ISSUES WITH ARUM
2) HE WAS WAITING FOR A FIGHT WITH DE LA HOYA
3) ON TOP OF THAT, HE WAS PLANNING TO FIGHT CORY SPINKS AT 154, BUT SPINK'S MANDATORY THREATENED LEGAL ACTION
4) TO BOOT, HE GOT PAID THE SAME CUT AGAINST BALDO PLUS PPV REVENUE...YOU SAY MARGARITO WAS THE BIGGER DRAW BASED ON NOTHING BUT YOUR OWN DAMN OPINION. THIS IS A DAMN FORUM; A FORUM IS A PLACE TO EXCHANGE IDEAS; IN AN EXCHANGE OF IDEAS, THE BEST IDEA AND FACTS COME OUT AND YET YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS VERY SIMPLE CONCEPT THAT YOU LEARN IN HIGH SCHOOL.
so he didn't fight margarito to get to delahoya. does that mean he didn't fight cotto to get to marquez? is he not fighting pac to get to............chavez jr? your "he only fights big money" fights theory is full of holes.
margarito is a bigger draw based on my opinion? well he sold 500k against cotto and probably over a million with pac. baldomir sold 325k vs the ppv king mayweather. other factors in him being a bigger draw. more mexicans than argentinians in the united states. more longevity as a top welterweight. more exposure on boxing networks.

The man already beat the top 2 in the welterweight division a MERE YEAR before Hatton and De La Hoya and THEN HE WAS EXPECTED TO DEAL WITH NEW-COMERS THAT WEREN'T THROWN HIS WAY IN 2006????
take out the dash between sado and boxing.
the truth is he beat a journeyman and the guy who just lost to that journeyman while avoiding the number 1 guy. what more does he have to prove!

It seems like we've found common ground here. You state that, "ok, he didn't fight Margarito to get to De La Hoya." Let's build on that. But what does Cotto have to do with Marquez. What does Chavez Jr. have to do with Pac? It seems you are really struggling to connect dots that aren't there.
Margarito was never in the equation in terms of what the media and general public wanted as an opponent for FMJ. As Brian Kenny stated, "BUT WHY PUT THIS GUY (JUDAH) IN FRONT OF YOU; WHY NOT GO AFTER BALDOMIR"?
Hindsight is always 50-50. Margarito WAS A DRAW because of COTTO; not the other way around buddy. Margarito was never a draw prior; ESPECIALLY IN THIS SPAN OF TIME THAT YOU WANTED FMJ TO FIGHT HIM IN. OK, he only made 325k (ppv) with Baldo, BUT HE STILL GOT THE SAME CUT ON TOP OF PPV REVENUE AND MORE CREDIBILITY BECAUSE BALDO WAS THE LINEAL CHAMP. C'mon man...who was Margarito in that point of time?

the number 1 ranked welterweight was never in the conversation? yea maybe your conversation. most fans wanted to see floyd fight a guy who had been a top welterweight for years not some flash in the pan journeyman who was lineal.
i've already listed so many reasons why margarito is more of a draw than baldomir. you just refuse to acknowledge them. neither margarito or baldomir are A side fighters but if you are picking an opponent to try and do more buys with you would pick margarito if you were smart.
