Margarito or Baldomir in 2006, which fight should Floyd have fought???

    You really find any sort of way to discredit Floyd even when they don't stick. I proved Floyd didn't duck Margarito when he was pursuing tougher challenges in Oscar De La Hoya and Cory Spinks. Hell, he wouldn't have fought Baldo if Spinks's mandatory wasn't pressing legal action. BUT YOU STILL DON'T CARE.


    - As of January 19th, 2006, Carlos was still the man to chase at 147 because he was the lineal champ at 147. I stand corrected since these rankings show that Margarito was number 1; that's if he did use CREDIBLE RANKINGS. Judah was number 2 and Spinks was number 3 (he's important later on).


    - As of May 19th, 2006. CARLOS WAS STILL THE LINEAL CHAMP AT 147, THEREFORE MAKING HIM THE MAN TO CHASE. AT THIS POINT, FLOYD BECOMES NUMBER 1 ON THE LIST OVERTAKING THE TIJUANA TORNADO, which takes away from Margarito ever really deserving a fight against FMJ since he defeated Zab who was number 2 in the previous rankings.


    - As of June 7th, 2006. THINGS WERE STILL THE SAME.


    - As of August 4th, 2006. THINGS WERE STILL THE SAME


    - As of November 7th of 2006. FMJ IS NOW THE UNDISPUTED 147 CHAMP. BALDO BECOMES RELEGATED TO NUMBER 2 WITH ZAB AT NUMBER 3. Now at this point, FMJ is already LOOKING AT 154 FOR A BIGGER PAYDAY AND MORE CREDIBLE IN OPPONENT IN DE LA HOYA AND TO BOOT, HE WAS ALREADY TRYING TO FIGHT SPINKS WHO MOVED UP AND WAS THE CHAMP AT 154 PRIOR TO BALDOMIR.

    PLEASE GIVE THE MAN CREDIT...I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'S YOUR AGENDA AGAINT FLOYD MAN...

        No problem, But in boxing there is alway one more guy that you need to fight, The circumstances for him to fight Margarito was ripe when Rito beat Cotto to become a bigger name in boxing in around 147, The Cotto fight was ripe after he beat Mosley, Am not sure if the fight could have been made due to the problems between Arum and Mayweather but it would have been nice to see Mayweather continue fighting or show an interest in fighting the Cotto/Margarito winner.

        Especially the way Margarito won, The fight would have made Mayweather loads of money and he would have got good credit for beating Margarito right after the Cotto fight.

          I'm exhausted, lol. You may very well be right in your summations. However, it was all started with the statement, "there's always one more guy you need to fight." In essence then, we, as fans, are never satisfied. Our need to see the greats fight is insatiable. When that insatiable thirst is transferred to the fighter, the result may be unfavorable for both the fan and the fighter. Look at Ali, the man practically fought until he suffered PHYSICAL CONSEQUENCES. WHO ARE WE TO QUESTION WHEN A FIGHTER SAYS "NO MAS"? WHO ARE WE???

          AS THE GREAT ROOSEVELT STATED:

                fact-mayweather turned down a career high payday and didn't fight margarito. you say he was waiting for a delahoya fight but then why did he take a fight in the interim against baldomir? he didn't want to risk blowing an oscar fight against margarito for 8 mill but he risked a loss against baldomir for the same 8 mill. remember floyd don't care about belts they just collect dust so why take the baldomir fight for 8 mill and not the margarito fight which was offered first? can you keep up with all of floyd's hypocrisy?
