hasnt he been his mandatory for long enough now?

urango has shown to be a limited fighter throughout his career, remember who he beat to get the IBF title? neither does panda. his biggest win is over randall bailey...

mabuza is in the mix because he beat a holt who looked nothing like the holt that fought bradley or torres, holt gave up before he gave up in that fight
      -PANDA- is missing the point.

I didn't say Urango or Mabuza were better technicians than Kotelnik. And what has being an Olympic silver medallist to do with anything? Try and be relevant.

You can put down Urango and Mabuza all you like, but either would be good seasoning for Khan and would prove him a little more.

If GBP are going to put 2 of their brightest hopes together, they're going to want to build it up.

      December is not plausible.

And if you think Urango and Mabuza don't have a better chance of getting to Khan than a faded Malignaggi, you're nuts.

Have you actually looked at who Khan was fighting in his last 2? Urango and Mabuza are a step down from Salita? Deteriorated, shopworn Paulie is more dangerous?

        LMAO.
that is the bussiness of boxing my friend, when you fight somebody not that good, you dont get nothing for your legacy or money....even a jmm fight would be a better fight for khna than these two you mentioned for legacy and money reasons. paulie would outbox the **** out those two, ...like i said , stepping down in comp does nothing for a fighter unless he's coming off a loss!

i hate paulie to the bone and i dont give urango a chance to beat him...urango is crap bro!...if he was a bit faster , id give him a chance vs kahn but he's a robot, you can see his puches from miles away!

True enough, but there's a possibility he's contractually ineligible to fight Khan in 2010, anyway.

But even if Maidana wasn't his mando, people would still be calling Khan a bitch for not jumping in with whoever the big-punching hardman in the division was.

My point is about people acting like a Juan Urango wouldn't be a very acceptable substitute.

Yeah you could be right. But I would give Urango a chance because at this point in Paulie's career, he's pretty easy to hit. He has zero head movement and keeps his hands low even when his opponent is in range. His defense is his jab. If he can't keep you away with his jab then he's literally gonna take flight run away and last the distance. I saw that in the Hatton, second N'Dou and Ngoudjo fights. I honestly don't know how he got the decision against N'Dou in the rematch or Ngoudjo...

People throw the term 'shot' around too *******ly...shopworn, sure, shot, nah.

Paulie hasn't been himself for a good while, I don't think he has an easy night with the stronger top 140 contenders of now, Urango included.

But you're saying Urango would be a step down for Khan Legacy-wise from Malignaggi?

So let's just pretend Malignaggi's accomplishments as a pro far exceed Urango's (they don't)...then Maidana isn't exactly going to do that much more for Khan's Legacy, he'll just be an overrated guy Khan outboxed if Maidana can't land his hurtful punches.

                  I'm a BIG Paul fan.

actually ure missing the point, cuz neither did panda. u stated khan fighting a former alexander victim would be just like alexander fighting a former khan victim. my argument is that urango's a C-class fighter and kotelnik's a B-class fighter...

at this point khan shouldnt have to prove anything other than that he can beat bradley and alexander. does need more seasoning? well then u could say the same for alexander, but frankly nobody wants to see these keep busy fights anymore. khan talked the talk now he should walk the walk

putting ortiz and khan on the same card is building a fight up. dont forget golden boy keeps the winner

why is it contractually ineligible for maidana to fight khan at the end of the year? been on a holiday for 3 weeks so mightve missed something but hes fighting corley tomorrow..

ure right on the last part though, but maidana being his mando actually makes it a lot worse with khan not fighting him. uve got two guys who are due to fight eachother and are able to do so come december...why need a substitute?

Maidana isn't going to remembered as any bigger a Legacy name than Urango 50 years from now, guys...maybe even less so if he can't grab himself a crap-strap from someone.
