urango has shown to be a limited fighter throughout his career, remember who he beat to get the IBF title? neither does panda. his biggest win is over randall bailey...

mabuza is in the mix because he beat a holt who looked nothing like the holt that fought bradley or torres, holt gave up before he gave up in that fight

You can put down Urango and Mabuza all you like, but either would be good seasoning for Khan and would prove him a little more.

khan-ortiz is a more plausible fight then u might think seeing as theyre both under the same promotional banner. khan wants to fight in december remember so with the ramadan and negotiations he will have 2 months to prepare regardless not to mention both guys fought on the same card so it makes sense for them to face eachother

It's not whether they're a step up or down technically...what they are is seasoning for Khan, in dealing with strong, pressuring guys who can hit...that they are C class in a pure boxing sense makes them ideal for Khan to prepare for better versions of what they do.




And if you think Urango and Mabuza don't have a better chance of getting to Khan than a faded Malignaggi, you're nuts.


Have you actually looked at who Khan was fighting in his last 2? Urango and Mabuza are a step down from Salita? Deteriorated, shopworn Paulie is more dangerous?

Urango would beat Malignaggi in the same fashion Hatton did. If a feather fisted, safety first version, lightweight Juan Diaz was able to have success against him, imagine what the huge punching, more active Urango would do. He's definitely a step down from Kotelnik though.

Yeah you could be right. But I would give Urango a chance because at this point in Paulie's career, he's pretty easy to hit. He has zero head movement and keeps his hands low even when his opponent is in range. His defense is his jab. If he can't keep you away with his jab then he's literally gonna take flight run away and last the distance. I saw that in the Hatton, second N'Dou and Ngoudjo fights. I honestly don't know how he got the decision against N'Dou in the rematch or Ngoudjo...

Paulie hasn't been himself for a good while, I don't think he has an easy night with the stronger top 140 contenders of now, Urango included.

So let's just pretend Malignaggi's accomplishments as a pro far exceed Urango's (they don't)...then Maidana isn't exactly going to do that much more for Khan's Legacy, he'll just be an overrated guy Khan outboxed if Maidana can't land his hurtful punches.
