So you gave Alexander 7 rounds for throwing punches from the wrong distance that landed on gloves and forearms?

But because he threw more you gave him the rounds?

Now I have nothing against Ray at all, but have you noticed that the folks that scored the fight for Alexander have no real reason why?...

Yeah, Xander did throw alot of punches, 82% of them missed, and or were blocked. On the other hand, we had a fighter that was timing the hell out of the jab, and landing almost everytime he threw it. Was cutting off the ring with a very educated left hook (so Devon couldn't spin out of it, and stay on the move), then would follow up with a right hand (that pretty much landed all night long)...Not to mention after round 6 or so, Devon's neck was getting snapped back with uppercuts on the inside. Devon did nothing on the inside...

I really can see no way anyone scored the fight for Devon...No way at all. Not to mention he was in constant retreat...He maybe landed 4 good punches in the fight. While the other guy was very, very soild for 12 rounds.

Yeah he needs a new trainer. The thing is people are reluctant to get a new trainer until it's to late. I understand that he basically raised him but he has to understand it will only benefit his game(I could imagine how hard it is).

He needs to work on head movement
Creating angles(he was either going straight back or forward)
Also he needs to go to the body more.

...and that was not a good performance AT ALL! I have a good eye when it comes to this sport and from what I seen Devon didn't win. I'm now arguing with my dad, WHO USED TO BOX that saw it on tv, and he thinks that Devon won. I don't think so. Props to Kotelnik. Dude is a solid, solid fighter. Kotelnik timed the mess out of Devon and landed that str8 right hand when he wanted and he landed some nice hooks. If the Devon THAT I SAW tonight faces Bradley, he gets beat and maybe gets knocked out. I love Devon and I have always supported him and I will continue to because I am a BIG fan of his. But, this kind of performance won't cut it against the other top guys in the division.

Other note, I saw Floyd. Dude is little, after the fight he walked right by me. I tried to snap a shot, but he just shot me a salute and left pretty quick with a HUGE bodyguard.

Bradley's not knocking any Devon!! But I agree Bradley will smother him right now.

Devon shouldn't even be mentioned with Pacquiao. He wont even pass as Pac sparring partner. He's got a small head and so hittable. Pac will make him quit in their 1st sparring.

Yo Webb did you see a lot of the weaknesses I pointed out before? Devon ain't bad man, I love the dude's character but I feel that we all have to come back down to earth. People need to carefully study him and see that he has far too many flaws, flaws that he can fix though.

These flaws were in the Urango fight too where he was hit over and over with looping left hands. He's hittable. Not really a pure defensive boxer as much as a guy who throws a lot of punches.

I haven't scored the fight but I'm not quite sure how Devon wins. He landed very little and got hit a lot more. The rest of the fight was just him missing a lot of shots. He showed grit but was on fumes at the end and his face looked worse for wear. Kotelnik was patient, the effective aggressor, controlled the center of the ring, landed the cleaner punches and landed more punches period. And had much better defense. He should've won the decision. I wonder if Alexander's handlers are as eager to put him in the ring against Bradley following this performance.

I like Alexander, I saw him the first time on the Trinidad-Jones undercard back in January 2008. Great talent, decent power, terrific workrate...but I've always seen Timothy Bradley as a bigger force despite his lack of punching power. He looks like he's really always up to challenges and always comes in terrific shape. That's my favorite fighter out of all the ones out there in every division.

Having said that, it's nice to see real fans who stand behind their fighters and don't start jumping off the bandwagon (like many are right now). The Urango KO was eye-catching, but if I remember correctly Urango started coming on in the mid rounds before that timed uppercut caught him.

Judging from last night's fight, Devon dislikes pressure and it's insane how many jabs landed (assuming punch zone was accurate=120?!). Either Alexander had an off night, or Kotelnik really IS a great fighter. I hope it's the latter.

I need to watch that fight again without my heart racing like it was yesterday night. Punch stats reflect that Alexander was the busier fighter and landed more punches overall. The problem was that Kotelnik's high guard pressure style with the insanely timed jab never allowed Alexander to get momentum going. Add to the fact that Alexander was horribly cut, it made Kotelnik as if he was going to take it.

In the end, we all got a great fight (actually two great fights) and I personally would like to see where both Alexander and Kotelnik head towards after this.

Actually thats wrong, kotelnik out landed alexander overall, 225 to 202 and landed by far the cleaner shots too but how do you lose when you out land your opponent and also clearly land the better shots too..... ask lederman and the judges!!
