I'm Devon's biggest fan here and I saw it LIVE...

The rest of the fight was just him missing a lot of shots. He showed grit but was on fumes at the end and his face looked worse for wear. Kotelnik was patient, the effective aggressor, controlled the center of the ring, landed the cleaner punches and landed more punches period. And had much better defense. He should've won the decision. I wonder if Alexander's handlers are as eager to put him in the ring against Bradley following this performance.

Originally posted by VAW-JR View PostRight, he isn't bad at all. And, I saw the defensive holes in his game. He has the Cory Spinks sydrome, pull back with his hands down. Only a few fighters can get away with that. And tonight, Kotelnik timed the mess out of him and landed some good shots when Devon pulled straight back with his hands down. I pray that he fixes those flaws, but, his trainer won't fix them. Which upsets me. Alot.
Anyways, Devon got tested and lost IMO. That right hand is too low and the same shots that Cory Spinks got hurt with are the same ones that Devon are getting hurt with. His trainer needs to teach better defense.
I agree, he has to fix that defense. I don't think his trainer can do much more for him, TBH.
Originally posted by P4P305 View PostHis trainer suck too. Devon is talented, but he definitely need a better trainer who can teach him to be more versatile.Originally posted by VAW-JR View PostI've been saying this for a minute too. I thought that Cory should have made a switch earlier than he did, but he just stop being very dedicated to the sport. I wish Devon would switch, but he has been with Kev since he was 7, so he isn't going anywhere.
I didn't see nor hear Kevin Cunningham make any adjustments and its frustrating man!

It's like Devon was more concerned about not getting hit than actually putting in work.
No advice from the best would've worked last night. The student actually has to follow through, there was none or hardly any last night.

WTF?

Alexander always has flaws.
He is not a boxer by rounds, but a boxer by pain.
In that respect, if he doesn't hurt you and break you down, you will always have a chance to win rounds because he is incapable of it.
