Kotelnik was patient, the effective aggressor, controlled the center of the ring, landed the cleaner punches and landed more punches period. And had much better defense. He should've won the decision. I wonder if Alexander's handlers are as eager to put him in the ring against Bradley following this performance.
DAZED, you know you and I see eye to eye on this boxing thing...and we saw the SAME thing last night. I really dislike the performance. As you said, he did show grit, but he didn't look to be in the best shape possible. I absolutely LOVED Kotelnik's TIMING, it was sweet. With that said, Devon HAS to go back to the board and make adjustments before he fights Bradley. They want him next, but as I said, the Devon FROM LAST NIGHT, can NOT show up against Tim.

And tonight, Kotelnik timed the mess out of him and landed some good shots when Devon pulled straight back with his hands down. I pray that he fixes those flaws, but, his trainer won't fix them. Which upsets me. Alot.

Anyways, Devon got tested and lost IMO. That right hand is too low and the same shots that Cory Spinks got hurt with are the same ones that Devon are getting hurt with. His trainer needs to teach better defense.

I agree, he has to fix that defense. I don't think his trainer can do much more for him, TBH.

I didn't see nor hear Kevin Cunningham make any adjustments and its frustrating man!

If I wasn't trying to fight off my sleepiness, I probably would've paid more attention in between rounds. But, man, from what I witnessed last night. I don't think CUNNINGham would've OR could've adjusted his balls for him.

It's like Devon was more concerned about not getting hit than actually putting in work.

No advice from the best would've worked last night. The student actually has to follow through, there was none or hardly any last night.

Its not all about ball mans. He should have made in-the-ring adjustments and they weren't made. The kid is 23, he doesn't know everything he needs to do. That is why fighters have trainers, to instruct them on what to do and what to stop doing. Bradley's trainer told Tim what to do and what not to do. Kevin was too busy cussing out the ref instead of attending to his fighter and correcting.

If they worked together, things could have been better (just like the Kotelnik fight). Bradley wasn't doing anything special last night. He put a nice amount of pressure on Devon and timed his right hand.

I didn't hear everything that was said in Alexander's corner as I was talking about the fight as it happened on here, but I remember hearing Cunningham say to Alexander that he's doing good and to keep doing what he's doing.

                WTF?

I wouldn't mind seeing him work with a more veteran guy like a Manny Stew or one of the Mayweather's.

                    Alexander always has flaws.

He is not a boxer by rounds, but a boxer by pain.

In that respect, if he doesn't hurt you and break you down, you will always have a chance to win rounds because he is incapable of it.

Alexander is a good physical talent, he has the potential to improve at such a young age.

However, due to his stiffness and his seemingly inability to adjust, think in the ring, or listen to his corner, he reminds me of Jermain Taylor.
