Devon got schooled tonight, Khan will definetely beat him with his speed, size and overall boxing ability. I'm not sure on Bradley, I think Bradley and Alexander same guys very muscular and athletic but lotta holes in their defense, suspect chin.

interesting take Webb...
i've also gone to live fight cards and thought opposite of what was being shown on tv...sometimes where you're seated and your line of view gives you angles that others might not see
with that said, i thought Devon won...i disagree with the Lederman card and the official cards...that was more of a 115-113 kinda fight
the thing that we do agree on is Kotelnik's timing...for someone that's been off for a while, he looked very sharp tonight
so Devon didn't provide the type of spectacular performance that we all expected, its all good...he got the win on a night where im sure the pressure of performing in front of your hometown might have gotten to him
couple that with a very game Kotelnik and what we were treated to was a good fight...Devon kept working and showed a lot of grit when that cut opened up...
put this one in the 'experience' folder and move on...i'm sure he wont have too many of these 'off' nights

I agree..and still say..Bradley whoops this boy..it's too soon..

Devon did not win that fight. Period.
Not even going to bother to rewrite all that in my topic, but I'm sick of being told that I don't know what the hell I'm seeing in a fight by the judges...And what was with Harolds lame ass score card?........
Bradley beats Devon at this point.

devon a good fighter i just aint sold on him yet. needs more time in the gym

i dont know if his trainer is the cause of sum of this, what do u guys think?
Originally posted by HandSpeed303 View PostFacts are, he got damn near jabbed to death tonite, and he couldn't get away from the right all night.
Dude really needs to stop going straight back! Devon lost that fight tonite!

You know that I was one of the cats on here saying that Devon has defensive holes in his game that were being overlooked. Kotelnik has average speed, but has very good timing, and was catching Alexander far too easily at times due to his lack of head movement and that he's so tense and backs up in straight lines w/his hands down and head up.....he keeps his right low too. I was saying, if Kotelnik could **** a bit, Alexander would be in serious trouble with the way he was getting hit and due to the fact he looked tired going down the stretch.
Devon was able to win against Witter and Urango despite the holes in his D, but now that he's just cut it very close, he needs to get back in the gym and work on them.
I don't mean to sound like I'm slamming him, just giving my honest take.
Originally posted by LEATHERF8CE View PostGood **** Webb.....I thought Alexander won on busyness and being more active,, but i got give the more effective punching to Kotelnik...i actually had the fight a draw.....
Originally posted by Blubba View Postwhy ppl always surprised by how little Floyd is, his dad didnt call him lil floyd for nothing lol. Guy is 5-7 to 5-8 max bout same size as Devon. alot of 140-147 fighters are little i mean its 147 man! alot of school girls weigh more than that.

I'm now arguing with my dad, WHO USED TO BOX that saw it on tv, and he thinks that Devon won. I don't think so. Props to Kotelnik. Dude is a solid, solid fighter. Kotelnik timed the mess out of Devon and landed that str8 right hand when he wanted and he landed some nice hooks. If the Devon THAT I SAW tonight faces Bradley, he gets beat and maybe gets knocked out. I love Devon and I have always supported him and I will continue to because I am a BIG fan of his. But, this kind of performance won't cut it against the other top guys in the division.
Other note, I saw Floyd. Dude is little, after the fight he walked right by me. I tried to snap a shot, but he just shot me a salute and left pretty quick with a HUGE bodyguard.
Devon, let's step it up bro! Bounce back!
Well anyways, my dad saw it clear for Devon like your dad. I also gave it to Devon but not as clear. It was like a borderline win. Not impressive at all. Devon needs to go back to the drawing board. But TBH he didn't fight no bum. Kotelnik brings it against any of the top 140 guys. IMO Kotelnik is just as good as any of those guys who are being a bit overrated at 140. I think Alexander and Bradley showed they are just a tiny bit overrated in their last fights. But we'll see, one fight is one fight. Not like they're putting up back to back bad performances. It happens to everyone. Look at Mosley he went from a bad performance against Mayorga to a performance that resurrected his career atm against Margarito.
And as for Bradley possibly KOing Bradley, I don't think so.

I pray that he fixes those flaws, but, his trainer won't fix them. Which upsets me. Alot.
Yea, I'm just being real.
The environment was bananas! It was great to see all the people that turned out and it was great to see some NFL players, Floyd, Michael Buffer and all those guys. Anyways, Devon got tested and lost IMO. That right hand is too low and the same shots that Cory Spinks got hurt with are the same ones that Devon are getting hurt with. His trainer needs to teach better defense.
Not Devon's beat performance at all. The Devon that showed up tonight won't be ANY of the other top guys in the division IMO.
I agree, I was saying all of these things watching the fight. I saw it all.
Yep.
You were dead on. Definitely got hit with too many flush shots, MAINLY jabs. He HAS to improve in those areas.
This^^^^^^^^
I agree, he has to fix that defense. I don't think his trainer can do much more for him, TBH.
Oh man, you talking the word right out of my mouth.
Yea, that sucks.
Thanks Shadows, I respect your take and opinion. You are dead on. My dude has to get back and get better! But, this was a good test for him at this young stage in his career. I hope it makes him better.
Thanks.
Yea, Floyd is a little kat. When he walked by me, he had this HUGE body guard with him so that made him look that much smaller.

His trainer suck too. Devon is talented, but he definitely need a better trainer who can teach him to be more versatile.
