Instead of posting old overly used gifs, explain your point. What was so entertaining about Jones vs Hopkins 2?

What a ****ing idiot. That's like saying "Hey, if you are a music fan you have to like every single piece of music ever written and if you don't then you're not a music fan!"

I am a musician. That's my career so I hear, see, listen and watch more than most. I also love music of all sorts and yet I still hear **** and boring music all the time. Doesn't mean I'm not a huge music fan. I love it so much I devoted my life to it, but, I can still recognise bad music. I don't have to pretend for the sake of some snotty intellectual wank that I like it all, just because it's music and I'm a musician and music fan. That is a worse attitude than hating on everything that's even slightly out of your comfort zone.

I'm sick of all these wannabe faux boxing purists that don't have a damn clue and don't actually know much about the sport beyond now.

That entertainment can come in a variety of forms: some enjoy slugfests, others enjoy the more technical fights, others still enjoy the clash of personalities of a pre-fight build up. But as paying customers of a specific product we have every right to voice our opinions if we feel that said product doesn't deliver the goods. To deny that isn't being a 'real boxing fan', it's being a mindless stooge, the type of person the promoters love because they lap any old crap up without voicing a word of complaint. Your type of attitude is symptomatic of the worst type of snotty, snobby boxing fan: those who turn their nose up at others whilst simultaneously lacking any ability to descriminate the diamonds from the dross.

        Kindly bugger off.
That's a mighty fine post mate. Good on ya.

I'm usually up for any fight, but there are some fights which are so one-sided it crosses into "boring" territory.

I think I may be one of the few here who was mildly entertained by Jones-Hopkins rematch, but don't quote me on that. I have yet to see the fight again. Maybe the reason why I was excited had to do with the fact that I was able to stream the fight the whole way through. Meh...the childish glee of knowing you're watching a PPV fight for free.

But anyway, there are some fights you just CAN'T say they're not boring: Sultan-Ibragimov was extremely boring...if you haven't seen that fight, try to. You won't get past the fourth round.

Cheers mate. It just astounds me that a sport with such working class roots as boxing can still breed arrogant classist snobs like the TS. Thought that was us Brits' domain!

I'm a boxing fan and I found the Guerrero-Casamayor fight last night nearly impossible to watch.

I cannot stand this piss poor excuse for **** fights and boring fighters. Yes, you have to win as a fighter, but, the entire sport of boxing is here for one reason. To entertain us fans. That's how they get paid, it's why fights are made and it's what the whole sport is based on. It is entertainment. It's a sport.

You can still fight with brains and entertain. Roy Jones was good at it, Mayweather was good at it...Toney was great. Duran was great, Leonard was great, Ali etc etc etc. The last three especially were all very smart, crafty fighters and yet were three of the biggest fighters ever.

A fighters career is based on two things. Himself and his skill and whether or not anyone gives a **** about him. The second one is most important for if he wants a lucrative career (which is every single fighter in history) and the first is most important to get to the top/titles etc.

Micky Ward never won a title and left the sport much richer than most champions.

of course you will find something boring if you don't understand WTF you are watching

I never watch boxing with CASUAL BOXING FANS because they ***** and complain about every match and if guys are not just standing in the middle of the ring throwing wild punches then they say it is "Boring" they don't know what counter punching is, they don't know about different styles in boxing, they think defense is a bad thing, they think using your footwork and head movement to get out of the way of punches is running

in the words of Roger Mayweather..."THEY DON'T KNOW **** ABOUT BOXING"

then you have your WANNABE fans who cry about other fans "thinking they are better then other fans" that is not even the case, you have your NEW fans trying to pretend like they know what they are talking about but in all actuality they don't know ****, then when a hardcore boxing fan expose then they get all sensitive then they turn to name calling "*******!" "Flamos!" lol
