My main point is historically in boxing the bigger draw recieves the largest share of the purse and the leverage to dictate terms. Larry Holmes got the same money as Gerry Cooney when they fought. That is unbelievable when you consider their resumes.

Pac hasn't generated as much as floyd. Manny has the good guy image but he isn't an American. If Manny were a US olympic gold medalist, I believe he outdraws floyd significantly.

That's how he hurt himself. He can claim anything he wants but there are more people now that don't think of him as #1 than before he retired. If he wouldn't have retired, he would be definitive #1 until someone/anyone beat him. He gave it away in retirement and is having trouble to get everyone to agree he is the best. You can make a case either way and all your points will be valid. That is my point...
but floyd held the p4p#1 for 3 years! He was the last lineal(Ring ****zine) 147 champ, no one has claimed that yet. He is now the #1 welterweight. All roads lead to him and he is the man to beat because no matter what manny can never retire undefeated. Any boxing fan should know you have to beat the man to be the man even if he did retire. so when you say the consensus is that he is not #1p4p anymore you are talking about people who watch a boxing match 1 or twice a year.

@BigDunn... you have a right to disagree but I knew nobody who knew who Marquez was until his wars with Pacquaio.. Take JMM without the Pacman fights? He would never be on PPV with a fighter like Diaz coming up in July. No f**king way! The Pacman fights made JMM a star, he got the cashout fight (Floyd) and now get a PPV against a mediocore fighter like Diaz, who just lost his last two fights (I believe Paulie M. beat him both times and how does losing to Paulie M. qualify you for a PPV)...

There is no way Floyd is currently broke he has been banking since he came back and he just had a huge payday less than a month ago.

He burns alot of cash but he has a large pile to burn through currently.

FLOYD AND HIS MONEY ... IM SICK AND TIRED OF "MONEY" ****... if FLOYD wants to go down in history as one of the GREATEST boxers.. he'll take the 50-50 opportunity and take down PAC. FOR CHRIST'S SAKE.. fight for LEGACY.. FLOYD IS RICH ALREADY.. he's just shady that's all...

@BigDunn.. true but Floyd wasn't an Olympic Gold Medalist either. Also, what I haven't heard is how much revenue Pacman's fight with Clottey earned other than the U.S., and that also includes the Mayweather vs. Mosley. In the U.S., maybe Floyd outdid Manny but what about world wide. You know when somebody fights Ricky Hatton, the money goes up because of U.K. money, and when Pacman fights, crime in the Phillipines comes to a standstill because EVERYONE watches. You can't just count the U.S., you have to count the world and when counting how many people watch, I think you will find that each fighter is dead even....

                  Slugger:

Respect! Fair point and I agree. JMM is not popular to American fans but he is huge in Mexico. You are right on that he is getting the floyd rub.

I don't think jmm diaz 2 breaks 400k ppv. I could be wrong.

I've seen sigs with racist pics and all other sorts of pics and your
calling me out about having sigs of a fight that just happened?
If you were attentive then you would know that I always do theme
sigs with certain mega fights AND I've done them before without
Floyd in them. You seem to be bothered by them? Why? Because
it's exactly what I said, you hate Floyd and YOUR the one really on
his nuts. For a person to get mad at another person because he
has sigs of a certain fighter is a hate obsession. Apparently you
haven't been reading any of my posts so don't try to act like
you know me. Seems to me that YOUR the fan because I'm not
mad at you for liking or having sigs of any fighter but you do
to me? Again, you are a SUCKER.
Listen gangster boogie you really think your sig pics annoy me? Again...even for you that's a bit of a "stretch" and you do quite a bit of it, see why context is important for a guy like you, because you claim that I'm on a boxers' nuts yet you're the one with a giant "life-size" poster as your sig with a narration attached to it supportive of whom exactly? Lol right...yes you're right wreaks of this supposed "knowledge" you have. I'm not insulting you. I'm pointing out your clear bias with each and everyone of your posts, which all too often lack proper context. How long ago did Pac reach the height of his popularity, in regards to PPV? How can you measure that effectively against Floyd's PPV without coming to the conclusion that the numbers are comparable period.

That's a f**king FACT and really, the only fact that matters. But Floyd is broke and to make outrageous demands doesn't seem too bright. Let's just hope that both fighters can put their egos in check and make the fight happen. It takes two to tango and two to agree. They will both be at fault if they don't fight and we will all argue who is and isn't right. But who are we, anyway? The real losers if the fight doesn't happen...
you sound real ****** floyd just made $40 million. and 2nd how the **** IS HE BROKE????
