Why are there all the excuses as to why Manny lost rather than giving Morales his just due.

Ironically it's Floyd fans who discredit Morales by saying he was onld and shot. First of all he wasn't old...only 28 when he fought Manny, and Second he wasn't shot because outside of going above his peak weight and losing, he was on a great run, and IMO could have been undefeated since those Barrera fights could have went either way.
Doesn't matter though, we live in a age that if you lose one fight (in a dominating fashion) you are automatically shot...smh

Morales is one of the greatest fighters of this era, and ATG and had two extremely close losses to Barrera, IMO that could have went either way. He was on a great run and wasn't shot, something to this day I don't get why people say.
I even argue that he wasn't shot in the second fight when Pac beat him and that he only lost to Raheem because 130 was his absolute peak and going above the he gave up too many advantages to a bigger, faster man.
Morales win over Pac is his best win IMO, along with Junior Jones, Barrera 1 (he won that IMO), and Daniel Zaragoza.
No shame in Losing to Morales, because he is a beast, and he wasn't shot in his first or second loss. Full credit to him for beating Manny in that classic first fight.

Originally posted by O.S.I.R.I.S View Postyes...nothing about the way he fought gave me the impression he was shot. You don't put on the performances against elite fighters (Pac and Barrera) if you are shot. If Cotto beat Pac and lost a 115-114 decision to Floyd would you say he was shot? Just curious

A prime Morales could've weighed in at 130, let Rahim weigh 135 and still woulda won. He was fading bad. Then to ask him to come down to a weight he could no longer make? What do you have left? Come on guys, stop being such blind fans and be real for a sec.
