The real issue was shane wanted $10 mil and floyd wasn't a draw at that point.
Its the same thing as Khan and Malinaggi calling FLoyd out right now, so Floyd MUST be ducking them right?

All the old school types who are always like 'he's never been in a war, he's not a real fighter'.... they just can't seem to grasp the simple concept - he is that godd, he doesn't need to be in a war! He is a pure boxer, and that is the sport isn't it? It's called boxing, not 'warring', or 'fighting'. If he is in a hard fight though, he's got the stones, he's proved it before, but detractors choose to overlook it. Go and watch his fight against Chavez on youtube.
All the ducking Margarito, Cotto etc. stuff is a load of bull as well - like the man himself says, 'all roads lead to Floyd Mayweather'. Maybe in the 50's and 60's, it was a case of 'just fight everyone', but Merchant should know that times have changed, to expect it to be like that now is just naive. You need to take into account the context of when Floyd could have fought Margarito and the others - purses, risk, reward, pulling power of opponent etc. The fact is we all know he would school Margarito, Cotto and the others anyway if they ever fought, just like he did to Mosely.

And to actually say Mosley ducked Floyd is one of the ******iest things ive ever heard.....EVERY single person including you knows Shane had been calling Floyd out for like 5-6 years during his Prime. If you didnt know that then you just started following boxing.
Its funny how a guy whos been in boxing for 50 years tells the truth about your fighter and you get real defensive

Larry may be a grumpy old man, but he is a grumpy old man who has forgotten more about boxing than most people know. He's an educated professional and as a result offers an "educated" opinion, there is a difference between someone who has experience combined with education, when they offer an opinion it's taken more seriously than someone on the opposite end of that equation. Larry is the issh.Last edited by switchsouthpaw; 05-12-2010, 09:50 AM.

Anybody with half a brain knows that pac is not, and will not be the most challenging fighter. Just another small fighter with a big following like hatton and marquez!!!! This old fart does not see that he is contradicting himself. I can't believe you idiots on here are actually saying that merchant is spitting the truth. You guys are morons. I can't wait till pac gets his ass whipped so that we can get fans with some logic back in this sport.
