This is how Kermit wants to win his fights. Legal Battles, jumping out of the ring, crying, protesting to the ref that he was butted even though we saw him get punched, etc...

He should be forced to rematch Angulo for his next fight.

I'd like to see a rematch. They have unfinished business as far as I'm concerned - that split technical decision is bull**** on every level.

The problem is finding a HBO date; I doubt they will be willing to shell out for a rematch to top a bill, so it'd probably have to be slotted on some undercard somewhere. And Williams is probably a bit above that at this point. I doubt he'd be willing to fight on some undercard for not much money or recognition against an awkward opponent who he already officially holds a win over.

Overall this whole thing just leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Unsatisfying fight, unsatisfying finish, unsatisfying result (no way did Williams win every round or even the majority of those three and a half), and to make matters worse we may be left wanting for a rematch. **** sucks and I'm pissed off I stayed up until 4:30AM to catch that nonsense, might've been better if that farce of a fight had never even happened - no one came out of that situation looking good.

          I know,

and that's why I suggested not worrying about that and just focusing on doing this rematch independently without waisting time on long training camps or looking for TV dates. Just do this rematch ASAP for the sake of having the match without any excuses. Both are still in fighting shape from last training camp so no need for another one.

We all would love that to happen but in boxing.......nah.

Even though there is no good reason it couldn't.

In an ideal world that might be an option, but these guys are making careers here. Pride is a factor but it takes a back seat to the real motivators like fame and fortune. No way does a fight of the calibre of Williams v Cintron II go ahead with no TV date or good venue or proper promotion.

                i agree.

i don't think cintron deserves a rematch though. people are not holding him accountable for his actions and that sucks.

Well considering the Booo-birds that were coming from the crowd during the fight, the comment from Merchant that two east-coast fighters are fighting in the West without much of a following in the East or West, the crap ending of the fight, and the fact that both get to keep their purse money for three uneventful rounds.

I say the stock (or calibre as you put it) for that fight has plummeted even lower, for anybody to give them another payday that goes along with "Proper promotion".

Or they can make it a Lumberjack match, with Margarito as the lone lumberjack enforcer. That'll keep Cintron in check.
