Finkel: "We offered Toney $3M and still haven't heard back from them!"
    By G. Leon

June 17, 2005 - Moments ago Vitali Klitschko's advisor Shelly Finkel responded to our interview with Dan Goossen by basically telling us that Goossen was full of it. At first Team Klitschko offered Toney 35% of the pot, only to have Goossen and Toney respond by demanding parity on **********. Finkel explained that after Toney demanded 50-50 Team Klitschko offered Toney a $3M guarantee with a bonus if the fight took place for the WBC title. "When they came up with the 50-50, I tried to find another way to get it done and e haven't heard back from them since we offered the $3M." With Toney now willing to accept 60-40 does that change anything regarding Klitschko's next fight? According to Finkel it's highly doubtful "because we're already pretty far along with the other (Maskaev) fight." Stay tuned to ********** for all the latest.

    Finkle is a snake.

"According to Finkel it's highly doubtful because we're already pretty far along with the other (Maskaev) fight."

    WTF is that?

If they'd make more money fighting Toney, and he's the better opponent, what's the problem?

It will be interesting to see how this developes. Right now Goosen and Finkle are just taking shots at eachother. Each has said they haven't heard back from the other, and I wouldn't take one's word over the other.

Money talks, and it's clear that a Toney fight would be over all more marketable and more profitable.

Hopefully they will realize there's more money to be made and that Toney is the better option in terms of credibility and a deal will get done.

...."According to Finkel it's highly doubtful because we're already pretty far along with the other (Maskaev) fight." Yeah that is a bull**** statement. They should take the Toney fight if it's a serious offer. GREATONE, that's a bet that I will make with you without hesitation and I will do it for several hundred million.

Finkle's pretty much saying they're not interested in killing negotiations in a low money fight agaisnt a fring contender in place of making a highly marketable fight against a higher class opponent.

I think they're just hissing at eachother, and if it's true that Toney's camp has moved on taking the smaller purse, the fight will ultimatly get done.

I'd be willing to put a large bet on Toney if the fight comes off. Anything up to a billion would work with me.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Klitschko camp is threatening a bout with Maskaev to leverage Toney into the financial situation they want. Even though Maskaev is ranked higher (#6) by the WBC than Toney.

Having said that, Vitali will only fight whomever the WBC agrees with. He will not give up his title outside the ring.

According to Finkle, the WBC title would be on the line, so that's not an excuse.

If Toney's agreeing to take a smaller cut, and Vitali stands to make several Million more fighting Toney than he would figthing Maskiev, that eliminates any and all excuses.
