i like to watch boxing not because of who makes more money. whoever is available (cotto, shane, floyd, pac, berto, clottey, hatton, marquez) will do as long as they fight. if i like to watch something based on how much they make money, then i will just watch actors on movie. you know what i mean?

Did I say anything about money. I said they don't mean anything. Pac v. Marquez meant something because it was two top fighters squaring off despite it making way less money then Mayweather vs. Marquez. Clottey is not a top fighter.

Based on the fact Pacquaio is the biggest, current global name in boxing. PPV numbers don't tell the true story, Floyd's numbers were from another time, another economy etc... It has to be seen in context, quantitatively and qualitatively.

So when is this other time? how about their last fights? The unemployment rate was higher when floyd fought marquez than when pacnuts just fought IN MARCH.So if its so bad, what will you say when MAY/MOSLEY NUMBERS COME IN?

Pac definitely has the right to demand 50/50 split. Why? Because he's a welterweight champ and P4P king! Simple logic dumbasses.. It seems Floyd fans are also ducking Pac! I do admit that it would be unfair to compare Floyd's opponent (Mosley) and Pac's recent opponent (Clottey) to decide the negotiation standards. Even though Mosley ain't a PPV fighter, he has been on some nonetheless and even the casual fan will say it rings a bell with they say hear his name. But - then again, I still do believe that if Pac-Clottey had the same promotional methods and allotted time to hype the fight like May-Mos did...it still wouldn't have broken $1 million or at least barely have broken it, mainly because we all knew what kind of chances Clottey had and in May-Mos, it's a damn close fight. That's why I'm thinking that if this fight breaks 1.50 PPV buys then Floyd has a legitimate claim at wanting a bigger slice of the pie. Cause if Cotto-Pac did 1.25 PPV buys with good promoting and Cotto has his own country behind him and can easily sell MSG (not sure, but I think Mosley's never sold out any place unless it was ODLH or Marg fight). So to break to surpass 1.25 buys with claming you're the cash cow and fighting somebody who doesn't really have a popular following, 1.50 is legit enough to have leverage in the negotiations. i will say this though, i hope they dont agree on the OST and THEN disagree on the pay.
