Ortiz-Campbell: A smell another Maidana incident coming

Victor Ortiz is clearly athletically and technically gifted, but we saw against Maidana, that mentally he may not have what it takes.

Believe it or not, after his last win, I posted on here that I thought Ortiz would probably be beat again if he faced someone with a good chin and toughness again. I offered Nate Campbell as a prime example.

Campbell, like he did to Juan Diaz, could possibly be too tough for Victor. When Ortiz gets into the mid to late rounds and Campbell is still pressing him, will he wilt again?

My guess is yes. The x factor - "is Nate Campbell the same fighter now, as he was against Diaz?"

Ortiz will prove all his critics wrong on May 15th... if you're so sure of this then bet me 300k on Ortiz

How long of a lay-off has Campbell had? That can also affect the outcome of this fight. All credit goes to the winner of this fight, I take none away from the winner. I mean its Campbells fault if he choose to wait 9/10 months for his next fight.

If nate campbell is still somewhere near the top of his game then he has a hell of a chance to breakdown victor ortiz and knock him out in the later rounds because i sense that campbell knows this might be one of his last chances to make a run at a world title again so i would have to go with the galaxy warrior in this one and i dont think that vicious victor ortiz is all that great either even in the antonio diaz fight he looked like he was fighting alittle cautious even against a washed up antonio diaz who would haved stopped ortiz in his younger pre shane moseley/antonio margarito dayz

He sounded like a white stoner surfer in that interview. I don't think Maidana is all that smart, but he is definitely a talented athlete. He has shown he can box well, even though of course the way he ended the fight against Maidana will always be in the back of most of our minds.

I agree. Campbell is such a veteran, i just can see him giving this fight away.

Ortiz's biggest problem is that he cant cut the ring off. He chases guys around instead of trapping them. Thankfully for him, he probably wont have to look too hard for Campbell.

But Campbell has a solid chin, and if he can take Ortiz's power then he will win the fight by 5th or 6th round KO.

But Ortiz can CRACK, so its hard to tell

No, I'm not so sure of this.

The x factor I alluded to in my original post is too important. We just don't know what Nate Campbell will show up.
