yup, and til this day people will say floyd used this as an excuse to get out of the pacquaio fight, problem is is that fighters will do whatever they feel is necessary to gain a competitive edge. So why i may question Mayweather's timing on asking for this specific testing, fact of the matter is it's long overdue.

What people fail to mention when doing the comparison is that when floyd/marquez did 1.6million buys he was also going head to head with a UFC ppv too. Right now team pacquaio has to be praying that Mosley wins for 2 reasons. One, i think we can all agree that unless the mosley/mayweather fight doesnt go down, it will do at minimum double that, and the 2nd reason and most important one, they can get out of taking RANDOM blood test.

Good point cause if Pac/Cotto did 1.2 and Pac/Clottey did 700 thou then the other 500 thousand must've came from Cotto. Wow LMAO!!!!!!!!!! Remember Pacoiders, this is what all of you said. LMFAO.

it's impressive if this number was higher than his previous fight, for bob arum and top rank this number is not as successful as they would've liked it, not when you put the fight in the biggest stadium in football.

Floyd was ready to fight and you know it. Manny and his team thought Floyd would say that's too soon but he fooled them and said let's go that's when Manny blamed the test. Remember the test was always in the contract from the beginning it wasn't something they just threw in there. Manny didnt wanna fight. Your boy punked out.

That said I am not super impressed with 700,000 for Manny, I mean it is good and he got 50k people there watching it but its not amazing. amazing would have been closer to a mil, which is pretty unrealistic but that's what i would have considered great. However, the event clearly met expectations or better and it did do very well considering it was clottey.
First, the ticket prices in Dallas were so cheap compared to the tickets in Las Vegas. You are looking at a $1000 to a $50 pricing difference in seats.

Second, Floyd knows how to market a fight. He did a wonderful job of marketing his JMM fight.

Thirdly, in a downturned economy the fight should have done a lot better because of an economic term called escapism, which people are looking for a way to escape the dismal stories of the economy i.e. layoffs, gas prices, food prices. People tend to buy items like movies, tickets to basketball games, ppv, etc so your argument does not hold water. Anyway, I saw the same comment from a writer off of Yahoo a couple of days ago.

If Mosley fights Pacquiao without random drug test then it will prove that he's only doing it now for the money. And that he'll make any fight and agree to all the demands just to make some money. And that will look bad on him. Because right now he's talking about he hopes everyone will follow floyd and his example but if he turns and fights pac with randoms drug test then he's suspect.

Aye mate no ones denying that.... As a Floyd fan i just would like for the *******s to respect that when Floyd does 1.2 mil . plus with Marquez.... That they be man enough to say that Floyd carried those numbers, up against a UFC ppv card, with his name as well...... Right or wrong......
