Yeah, it's trendy to hate Ruiz and someone that big you'd think would be good.

But this Valuev sucks. Anyone that can box - not that Ruiz is great at boxing - can destroy this big, slow lug.
I've seen him fight Dominguez, Nobles, Levin, Etienne - and I still think anyone that can move could pull out a UD over him.

I picked Ruiz by DQ since Valuev's last 2 fights would have been DQ losses if they took place in the States. The Etienne fight for sure; Nobles and Valuev fouled each other like Ruiz and Golota...

The better question is how the **** did this clumsy 7 foot sack of potatoes become #1 contender? Ruiz by UD or DQ.

Ruiz is going to have to fight Valuev within a year or so by WBA rules. Valuev is the #1 contender for the WBA.

Not a big Ruiz fan, but i agree with pretender that that giant shouldbt be there. Also they should stop all of this and let Ruiz fight Brewster or any other champion in the divsion. Get these titles unified please.

I agree. What is this, how many years we going on since there were unification fights in the HW div? 3? 4? That's bull****.

I am ashamed to say I voted for Ruiz by MD or SD. Someone said if it weren't for Valuev's size he'd be without a win, I think his size has to be one of the most significant contributing factors in his subpar performances. How much faster would he be if he were even 6'8 and 270(which is still a behemoth)? He could possibly land enough 1-2s on top of Ruiz's head to hurt him, and if he did that would slow Ruiz down enough to KO him. The question is, how in the hell is Valuev going to be that accurate punching that far down while Ruiz is rushing in? I guess throught the first part of the fight, Valuev could keep pushing his head down when he comes in, and tire him out for the last part of the fight, but I don't see it happening.

I picked Ruiz to win by UD. Valuev has a good chin. Ruiz is not going to be able stop him and that wont be his game plan. But I just think Ruiz will land the cleaner harder punches througout the fight and too savy to leave himself open to taking one of Valuev's big punches in the early rounds. I expect Valuev to tire by the 6th round at the latest and Ruiz to pretty much dominate after 6 round and land alot of clean scoring shots. But it is no small possiblity that Valuev could land himself an early KO, cathing John coming to grappe or something. Alot on this fight depends on who the ref is. One thing about this fight is Ruiz grappling tactics wont really work to his advantage against Valuev.

This is a joke. Cliff Etienne has the chin of a dentist. Beating him makes you the number one contender? It makes me ill that you have to pass up and screw over 20 better heavyweights to give this fat russian bastard a shot at the title. Don King sucks balls and I hope he dies very very soon.
