I beg to differ, i feel hes in a different kind of prime. I mean the guy doesnt take much punishment...and his boxing I.Q is dramatic. If anything i feel floyd today would beat floyd of 4 years ago...wisdom almost always beats youth.

Ive been following Floyds whole career unlike MOST of this site who think his career started in 2006.
He retired because he needed a break. He has hand problems, back problems, hes a known over trainer, the move up i weight. The lay off..etc.
Im one of Floyds biggest fans. Hes not in his prime anymore. Those shots JMM landed dont land on a Prime Floyd. Hes not in his prime but hes still the best fighter in the world.
Hes 33 years old and has only boxed 12 rounds in the last 2 years.
Floyd physically is capable of fighting the elite fighters and winning. If he's in that form, he's still at the pinnacle of his career. You can't look at Mosley and say he's old, but then say Floyd is on the decline but is still the best fighter today. It's almost like you're lying to yourself purposely (unless that's what you're doing?). Floyd doesn't need to beat the piss out of people like he did with Gatti to make one assume he's a prime fighter and by keeping it cool and defensive that he's on the decline.
For that we could say Whittaker was past his prime at 26 years old.
