He is good, and is getting better and better, but I don't think he's ready for the elite fighters yet. I mean his record is impressive, but he doesn't really have that one punch knockout power either.
      I second that.

yea, I want to see him against a tough tough gateweay fighter first. Someone like Lovemore Ndou or Malignaggi to see where he stands.

Actually Id like to see him against the baby bull Juan Diaz, that would be firewroks and a good measuring stick

I think he's as good as he's been making himself look. His boxing skills that he showed against DeMarco were no joke. There are many a talk and even a video on youtube supposely of Valero getting the better of Erik Morales in sparring back in the day. Just once he's in the ring he prefers to go out and blow his opponent away to keep his KO intact and his marketablity up. I love his all out offensive style, but it's nice to know if he has to box, he can do that too and still knock your ass out. There is nothing overrated about him right now. Even if he loses, that means he's overrated? gtfo.

sparring is sparring, Just that. Whos to say that Erik Morales was refraining from certain maneuvers to better himself. Bottomline, He hasnt fought anyone substantial enough for people to put his name in with the Likes of Manny Pacquiao and or Timothy Bradley.

Bradley looked like a god against Nate Campbell, Once he fought Lamont Peterson, although he looked great, showed instances of being somewhat flawed.

Valero hasnt showed me enough talent that he can hang with anyone at the elite 140lbs and 147lbs.

Maybe Judah should take up a fight with him

Why is it that the trend seems to be that Pacquiao fans actually believe hes the real deal?

The guy isnt on any level of elite fighters

Well, we won't know for sure until he does. But all were saying is he has the potential there. I don't see anything that says he can't anymore than any other potential upcoming fighter. Valero hits hard as ****, strong workrate, good chin, nice boxing skills, and doesn't fade late. How could he not be ready for the elite now? Throw him in there and lets see how he does, I think he's ready.

I don't know about going up to 147lbs. That might be too much for him right now, especially without some progression bouts as he makes his way up Pacquiao style. But I think he'll be ok @ 140lbs no problem.

Unfortunately that's the attitude of a lot of "boxing fans" these days. Way too much focus on undefeated records, PPV figures, etc. I have no clue how it turned out like this, though, especially when the guy who most people consider the GOAT had 19 losses.
