    African american polite/Arrogant boxers.

Mosley, Paul Williams, Bradley all considered to have exciting style and polite personality = No fanbase or Not PPV relevant, Mayweather who is obnoxious, Arrogant, Rude = Great fanbase (Hugger+Haters), PPV magnet!!!

It's a shame really. When floyd was a nice guy he wasn't making money, just like Mosely. I really don't understand the Mosely situation, great fighter, humble guy but never got paid well.

Ha this is funny, although it's a pretty vague accusation, but it makes sense.

mosley, williams, and bradley all fight the best while floyd.......you know what he does. fantasy floyd is nothing but a reality tv personality. people tune in to see the trainwreck.

what does being African American have to do with anything? Wind-up merchants have always drawn attention to themselves in all sports regardless of colour

what fanbase??? mayweather relies on other fighters' fanbases.

the arrogant/rude thing helps him in a sense that it keeps him in the spotlight because he's always the center of controversy.

A great fighter who constantly fights top level opposition no matter how loved by the fans will eventually be dethroned and fizzle from the spotlight.

A great fighter like mayweather who allegedly avoids top level opposition stays in the spotlight because there are unanswered questions surrounding him.

Are we really trying to change the meaning of fan/fanbase again? We've bee though this so many times.

Casuals buy into the personas more than anything else.

when you can't entertain in the ring, you entertain outside of it

besides, its not HIS fanbase, its his opponents' fans that he piggybacks on
