Pacquiao deserves fighter of the decade. He came from out of nowhere and destroyed Ledwaba in 2001 and is now one of the biggest superstars the sport has ever seen. Then you factor in how much he has improved from being a one handed off balance extremely wild fighter to a more versatile pinpoint accurate destroyer that he is today.

coz surely 2000 doesn't belong to the 1990s
It's amazing people fail at understanding what "common usage" means.
Historians, ring ****zine, all major news outlets, they don't use the official definition of the Gregorian calender. Silly them, you know?

Juan Manuel Marquez came back from 3 knockdowns to get a draw against him, this is because for everything other than the 3 knockdowns Pacquiao's ass was getting spanked, same thing in the rematch except Pacquiao did better and it only took 1 knockdown to save him this time, I can't say that about Floyd, he dominated all of his opponents at least 1 time each, Barrera even did okay the 2nd time around, Floyd fought the washed up names now but in their prime when they were world class elite, he beat both Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo in their prime
at first I was upset with Floyd's selection because when you see a man dawning retirement you want to see him fight the fan favorite fights, not fights for 100% money, he has since returned and showed the intent to fight those fan favorite fights therefore erasing whatever I had against him, I never denied his greatness you understand that was never the issue, to do what Floyd has done is immense man he fought top dogs man, elite level fighters and beat them all and he's called out the ones he hasn't before, promoters and bull**** stopped it..
the guy been pro for 13 years and a few months and has been a champion since his 2nd year in, UNDEFEATED against elite level fighters after that man. Pacquiao won a lot of wars where he got hit and didn't look too strong himself at time while Floyd was simply dominance, if he looked bad in one instance he wouldn't again the whole fight, that's the magic of Floyd, the **** he done with the **** he accomplished, the money he generated, the fans, the names he fought, just everything about his career seems better to me, just my opinion..

Now to this Decade crap and when it starts and ends, most are confused... first you must understand there never was a Year "0" so thats why this number jump or overlap happens, do most people care about this? no.
