I just tryin to find the article that you just posted. I've hard that argument before and it was spread by this young fella from MAGBOX web site. Several pros conclude that you can put all the tape you want and it will not increase your power. Also, and I think it is mentioned in the article Tito keeps his wrapping after the fights so wouldn't he remove it ASAP if there was something to hide.

Tito's HandWraps.

Listen, adding tape or gauze to a fist won't make it hit harder. All it does is protect the hands and allows for the fighter to punch at his maximum power with less fear of hurting himself. That's all.
Also, I can't find it, but ********** interviewed Bouie and he said that the handwrapping thing was all a psychological ploy to get Tito out of his mindset. Hopkins, if I'm not mistaken, said something to that extent, too.

Originally posted by Red_MenaceWell, Barikua put and end to that discussion. There is some corruption in boxing, but I highly doubt all of those people would be lying for one fighter.
Boricua should be subjected to a couple of those Tito left hooks for posting that Tome of Trivia and Blatant Nuthugging. Just kidding, but it doesn't really support his argument as completely as ole Red here asserts.
Of course, I don't have any evidence to the contrary myself. At any rate, the guy who said that ignorance or negligence by the opposing fighter's team or officials in being there to inspect the wrapping is their own fault.
They deserve to get hit with a ****ing cast.

Originally posted by Shaolin BushidoIt would take a conscientious, principalled, assertive trainer to force the issue and insist that a respected powerful trainer like Senor Trinidad choke back his sense of honor and fairplay and reveal how his fighter's hands are wrapped ... as he is supposed to in the interest of fair play.
Both Bouie Fischer and Nazeem Richardson have said in interviews that it was just a mind game they were playing on Tito. Hopkins even said at the final press conference for the Howard Eastman fight that Nazeem Richardson was the man behind the plan while praising Richardson as his strategist.

Morales had Pacman use lesser gloves, they signed that on the contract, so he could get the "winners" glove, so I guess he cheated infront of your faces, lucky for him he never fought Casamayor, Frietas, Corrales or Seda in all his time fighting.Last edited by IwatchBoxing; 04-07-2005, 05:34 PM.
