    Tito's HandWraps.

    Bouie Fischer:

"I tell you, Ike. They have been getting away with that for a long time. I sent my people to Trinidad's locker room to make sure everything was right. When they got there they came back to me and told me that Trinidad's left hand was wrapped before they got there. So, I had to go over to his dressing room myself, this is my business and I have been doing it for over 50 years. When I got there I told them to unwrap the hand and do it over because we need to see the hand being wrapped. They refused to unwrap the hands so I told them I guess the fight will not happen then, we can reschedule to another date. The officials came in and said we don't have time to do this over. I told them, well we must do this right or no fight. They know the rules, no tape on the skin or tape on the ankle. His left hand was heavy just like your camera. Guess what, the officials then said you can go and wrap Bernard hands anyway you want. Trinidad's father and his people didn't want to make the change because they knew they cheated and they tried to cover it up by asking me to wrap Bernard's hands anyway we wish. I wasn't going for that, we have to do this right, they raised hell like you couldn't believe. I said you can do it your way, but there will be no fight if you don't do it right. They said we are going to leave it as it is, so I told them we can reschedule the fight untill next week. They didn't want to do that. This is why we had a delay coming out. When they saw Bernard they tried to ask us to take off just a little tape, but they had a half roll of tape on Trinidad's left hand. This is why people say he has a good left hook. David Reid paid a big price, Trinidad took away the fighter in him. David Reids people were trying to schedule a fight with Bernard and it could have happened if Reid would have won his last fight. I'm glad it never happened."

I suppose you people have already heard this. Forgive me for posting it over if done. I am starting to wonder though. Why in the hell did Joppy say he felt like Tito had cement in his gloves? He has NEVER been blown away like that. I am sorry to all the Tito fans for continuing this nonsense if not-warranted. I demand a rematch though. Damn it.

Tito could have had cement in his gloves and it wouldn't have made a difference with Hopkins.

Sometimes it seems like I am the only one who remembers he got his ass kicked!

There is no denying that. Tito is an ass kicker. But jesus man, why would everyone jump on the Handwrapping bandwagon....from several camps. It is puzzling to me. Why would bouie lie about something like that? He is one of the most respected trainers in the sport.

      and he is HOPKINS TRAINER!!!!!

Will-J who is Joppy's trainer, also claims that he suffered slight facial fractures after the fight with Tito. GRRRR.

I thought that it was a proven fact that he had cement. Sneaky Trinidad. Whether he did it or not he is still a very skillful fighter.

Its his own corners fault, if they would have been there like they were supposed to be then they might have seen what happened, if anything did. Give a trainer an inch and he'll get you knocked cold with some trick..............Rockin'

Very interesting, I never heard that story before, but hey it didn't make a **** of difference against Hopkins, B-hop whooped him in every round except for one or 2.

Bouie made him re-wrap as they've already said. Bouie has nothing to gain and from what I know of boxing I am believing this article.

I bet ole macho Mayorga didn't insist on anyone checking to be sure it was fair wrapping in their fight.

Who was in his corner for that fight?

Right. That is what is most startling to me. Why would he make these accusations? It would make no sense unless he hated Felix SR for some reason unknown. Wierd. An Athletic official needs to be present in Tito's locker room while his hands are being wrapped for Wright/Trinidad fight. For sure. I think Tito might bring a weapon to the fight. Perhaps a gun or knife. One of the two.

And if Borikua reads this: I want him to know something.

Filling Wright full of lead or stabbing him mortally, does not constitute a "TKO" or "KO", as far as our bet is concerned.

I never really bought into the handwrap theory. Felix Trinidad had 40 fights (almost half of them title fights) prior to meeting Hopkins, and none of the opposing trainers have said anything. If Trinidad had been cheating this whole time, wouldn't you think at least one 40 or so other professional--trainers or athletic commissioners--would've said something?

In Trinidad's next bout after Hopkins against Cherifi, the HBO crew paid close attention to Trinida's wrapping. They said if anything, he had too much gauze, which would most likely weaken a fighters power, though to a miniscule degree. He went out and destroyed a fighter who had never been as brutally beaten despite fighting the likes of Harry Simon, William Joppy, and Keith Holmes.

Perhaps Hopkins and Fischer were playing mind games like they had been during the promotion of the fight. or maybe Trinidad did have illegal wraps that fight. Who knows? All i know is that Trinidad has legit power.
