Why does he go by the name "the Hawaiian Punch" instead of the Filipino Punch? I knew he was hawaiian, but this is the first I've heard about any filipion heritage or background

He's an American Citizen who was part of the US Olympic team. Pro boxing isn't about what country you represent, unlike the Olympics. Pro boxing is an individual vs individual event. It has nothing to do with politics like the Olympics. Even early in his pro career, he mentioned about the problems in keeping his weight because of the fatty Filipino food his mom makes.
