he original undercard bout was to feature former welterweight titleholders Joshua Clottey and Carlos Quintana squaring off in a 10-rounder, but Clottey is promoted by Top Rank, which will no longer be involved in the card. On the eve of an August news conference to formally announce that Pavlik and Williams would meet Oct. 3 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J., the bout was called off.
Why is everyone ignoring Dzindziruk? Just because his name is difficult to pronounce is no reason to ignore him. He called out Williams long before Martinez did, and Williams' team gave him the impression they were about to sign a deal to fight him. and then they pulled out at the last minute to fight Pavlik, leaving Dzindziruk in the lurch. I think Dzindziruk would probably beat Martinez, and Williams owes him a fight after the way he strung him along before.
Why wont he leave Germany? He needs to fight some top dogs himself, he's been around a while.
154 is ripe for a takeover. I hope Pwill gets in there and ****s some **** up. The Martinez fight is his toughest one if it happens, but I think he can win it. If they do fight I wanna see em scrap at JMW for Martinez' belt instead of Sergio jumpin to MW.
And **** Pavlik.
Sergiy Dzinziruk would be just as tough. There are some good fighters at 154.
The fact that Williams is competitive in 3 weight divisions and is only the WBO interim champion is a clear demonstration of how meaningless the sanctioning bodies are. I hope to see Williams get big fights down the road, he's awesome.
