I thought Morrell had the tools to win before the fight, but wasn't sure if he'd avoid getting into firefights from lack of experience, and the lack of pro experience really told, because he didn't appear to have a gameplan at all, and didn't utilize a lot of the tools at his disposal, perhaps because Benavidez didn't let him.

I now understand clearly why Canelo won't fight Benavidez. Canelo doesn't have the gas tank to keep up and win rounds, and he's clearly not going to win with a KO because he can't stop anyone these days. I think Benavidez should be climbing the P4P lists. His defense was better than it has been in the past, and I'm looking forward to seeing both guys vs Bivol and Beterbiev, and believe both guys beat any of the contenders at 168.

I know one thing for sure. I want to see Morrell fight again. Just like Berlanga, his stock skyrocketed through a L.

I do believe the ginger got enough left in the tank to beat Benavidez in a tough fight, but to stop him? ...yeah, I dont think so buddy.

That's bs. If Benavidez didn't hit hard Morrell wouldn't have backed off him. He felt those punches. Morrells face and bloody mouth prove you wrong. As for Ginger, you still defending that duck? Lmfao

Morrell did the same mistake Bivol did trying to fight the other guy's fight.... Benavidez looked good, no doubt... Sadly he's not on par with the 2 Kings of the division... Notice how he said after the fight that he might go CW if he doesn't get the winner of Feb 22 ... Two things here: 1- He won't fight Beterbiev and 2- He would lose to both of them by a huge margin if not being annihilated ...

Ben looked better against morell than he did against gvozdyk. rather see a rematch with gvozdyk to remove any suspisions i have. maybe ben was just out of shape when he fought gvozdyk.

There are some fighters who just take a horrendous beating and won't get knocked out.
George Chuvalo is the poster boy for those kind of guys. Have we seen enough of Morrell to know? He might be that tough. I think Benavidez hits hard enough to make him competitive, if not dominant, with anyone. I hope we see him against Beterbiev to answer some questions.

Or maybe the reason was he fought the other blown up 168 fighter this time? While Gvozdyk is the real 175 guy.

So much for the Canelo fans hiding behind “he won’t fight and win against Morell” so I take it they will move to beterbiev while Canelo goes for another payday against another undersized foe in Crawford. You can find the Canelo manhood in a jar on the Benavidez family fireplace mantel.
