Canelo became the A side and did what EVERY A side boxer does and did business as such. Even still, he fought his way up. People said Canelo was gonna duck Lara because he was high risk, low reward, and at the time it was how people talk about Benavidez. What did Canelo do, fight him. No clauses no special stipulations People said he would never fight Austin Trout. What did he do, fight him. People said Canelo was ducking GGG, he fought him. People ccomplained about the result, he fought him again. When Canelo said he wanted to move up, people said he would never fight Callum Smith or BJ Saunders. He moved up and cleaned out a division with each champion 1 by 1. What has Crawford done to compare? Other than Spence, who has Crawford fought and beat that says he is higher p4p than Canelo? We can have an mature educated discussion about that
Canelo absolutely hand picks every opponent and tells them how much, when, where and under what conditions the fight happens....no exceptions or the fight doesn't happen.

That's not my opinion, it's a cold hard fact and the attempt to re-write that fact is laughable.

Well yes, but he can do that NOW because as the poster stated "he's fought his way to the level he's at now by fighting his way up". That's what fighters who earn their way to the top, do.

But the ABC’s shouldn’t be accompanying him
I wouldn’t be bothered if he dropped the belts and then did what ever he wants
            No hostages needed

I'm not saying it's right or fair, but in boxing, he who puts himself in a position that generates lots of money for the sport gets pampered. That's just the way it is and love him or hate him, Ginger fought his way to the top or to the point where he now is.

Yes, if he isn't gonna defend his titles against mandatories, he should drop them belts and let others fight for them.
