Comments Thread For: Richardson Hitchins edges Liam Paro for IBF title, sets sights on Teofimo Lopez

The words of trainer Lenny Wilson lit a fire under Richardson Hitchins after a frustrating fourth round. By the fifth, Hitchins turned the tide, stepping up his aggression and showcasing the skill that would crown him Brooklyn's newest world champion.

Hitchins didn't edge that fight, he won pretty clearly. Wasn't the most exciting performance but from about round 4-5 he pretty much took over the fight. The judge who scored it 117-111 to Paro needs thicker lenses for there glasses if they wear them, shameful

As much as I wanted Paro to win, 117-111 in his favour is just ludicrous. The size and jab of Hitchins killed the Australian's mojo. And, contrary to Hitchins' team, Paro's corner just couldn't fire him up.

Disgusting scorecard for Paro. A total joke.

I gave Hitchens crap but I loved the adjustments he made after the fourth round. Not a cracker but a textbook boxing clinic delivered to Paro, who was pretty one-note.

So in the past two years, Josh Taylor vacated the belt to rematch Jack Catteral instead of facing the mandatory Jeremias Ponce which Subriel Matias fought for the vacant belt against and won but lost to Paro who lost to Hitchins. Why do I have a feeling that there will be more movement in 2025 too?

Lol Paro seems destined to become another Kambosos who dethroned an undefeated monster to become world champion only to be totally outclassed in his first title defence. Therefore, maybe it is fitting that they fight each other next even if a world title ISN'T on the line!

PS: 117-111 was an absolutely disgusting scorecard!
