Incidentally, Boots ducked Terence Crawford’s offer to fight on BLK Prime.

So despite all the talk about Boots passing the eye test the reality is that he is an Email Champion with a history of shooting himself in the foot when it comes to turning down big fights.

I noticed this same thing with this mail bag. Breadman has literally twisted himself into a pretzel trying to defend something which the rest of the world can clearly see for what it is. His answers are long and convoluted.

One thing I have l have learned in life is this - when you are wrong, when you have made a mistake or when you have failed, the best thing you can do is own it, admit to what you have done and admit you made a mistake, that you failed. That will get you respect from most people as they will appreciate honesty and sincerity.

On the flip side, coming up with a long list of excuses, no matter how well articulated they are, all you will get is criticism because people will see right through it. So in this case, Boots looks bad AF from every angle. The stories that Eddie and Boots have come up with are dog ssshhhhhiiiitttt. Everybody can see it, so no point trying to defend it.

You’re only proving my point in the original comment about being dumb as rocks. You didn’t mention any facts and clearly don’t know the meaning. Typical. All you stated was your opinion on boots and opinion on what the site should’ve done with Bread. Your opinion. Not a fact. You being a ree ree though, that might be a fact.

Although I don't fully agree with Breadman's response, I do think he has a lot of valid points, which are related to how he has never cared much about how fans spend all their time accusing boxers of ducking and spreading hate. Breadman's points about the advantages that Ortiz would have rest and training-wise are real, and what he says about the racial aspect of this type of debates is also on point, even if a bit excessive in this context. Breadman clearly gets frustrated and probably angry at the disrespectful tone of the haters; I would too. There are ways to disagree respectfully, sadly nowadays people have a hard time doing that.

Now, if you ask me, Boots made a mistake career-wise by not facing Ortiz. even with the advantages Breadman mentions, a boxer in Boots' position should challenge himself and accept the risks at hand, like the boxers of yore. My own frustration with Boots is that he is showing to be not that different from the Gervontas of the world, who are content with being businessmen instead of hardcore boxers. Maybe there is more reasons for Boots to have passed on this fight, but as everything stands it does seem he is playing it safe.

Why doesn't Breadman admit that Boots is playing it safe? People forget that both Breadman and Boots are from Philly, and the boxing community folks here usually have each other's backs. They may not be very close, but Breadman knows Boots since he was a kid, and he's just not going to throw him under the bus publicly like that. Even though I would probably not do it myself, I respect that stance. Haters will always hate, Breadman has a lot of wisdom to share, and I will be here to read him, even when I don't agree with him. I do admit he's not the most trustworthy voice on Boots.

I literally quoted the guy and proved everything he said was wrong. That simple.

Meanwhile you're just playing the whiny victim card which is usually what you people do when you have no facts and get your feelings hurt

No, he’s the one who went on talking about he needs to move up needs to fight someone better he had an easy fight he has 3 months to prepare career high payday and bum a$$ bread man says Ortiz is somehow future ducking him? Ridiculous lol. Boots is 29 Ortiz is 24. The fact ennis hasn’t had a competitive opponent even on paper yet is ridiculous and him coming out it public defending it makes his opinions as a trainer kind of a joke
ennis is 27 and ortiz is 26. opinions are ok but facts are facts. some posters even wrote that boots is 30. it's not hard to check facts.

i am honestly disappointed ennis refused this fight because there's nothing else for him at welterweight. not only now but i feel american and british boxers would ignore him and all the rest don't have any name recognition or legacy. jaron wants to unify but if they don't want to pay even 2 million $ at 147, forget about it. the main reason for anybody to sign with a big promoter like hearn is they have money to make fights. if hearn doesn't want to spend 2 million on a glamour division unification, ennis made a big mistake signing with him. i have nothing against hearn otherwise but he failed boots.

Also I mean…Hearn got him the Ortiz fight him and his dad asked for and got him action at 154 like he said he wanted after his last fight so as much as I don’t like Eddie I can’t blame him for this one
