      You don't "surpass" all "rivals" by supposedly looking better than them when NOT fighting them. You surpass by beating them, end of story. Let's stop reinterpreting words. I know that's common with this generation, but it's wearisome. Just invent some other word that means imaginary champion.

            If you want to stop reinterpreting words you better petition the dictionaries they are the gold standard of words, I had a worker doing some formwork the other day and he done a great job and the foreman said to him youre a champion Joe.

            Funny thing about the English language and how words mean different things to different people.

              So what you're saying is that, despite incredibly clear definitions in two of three sources you cited, which disagree with your interpretation, you decide that in the third source, to "surpass" all "rivals" means to pass the eye test for Roadblock on BoxingScene forum?
