Damn shame, he had so much potential. As it stands his best win to date is future hall of famer Leo Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz made his bones at the lower weights though. Tank should at least try to unify or win a real belt at 140 before calling it quits.

He's going to do the exhibition circuit and get paid ridiculous money for mismatches.

Tanks young with a short fuse, made a fortune and appears disillusioned with the sport, their is a backend story that is breaking him down you can see it in his demeanor. maybe too many snake backslappers, too many lies who knows but its not opponents , he doesn't care about fan legacy he just wants his money and be gone, not every great boxer wants to be the greatest ever, lots just want their bag get in get out, its a shame with Davis because it would have great for fans if he tried to be great.

He can fight like fck and is every bit a champion thats obvious, he just dont care from a fans perspective, that doesnt take away his ability it just waters down the proof.

No, he is not a champion. The only way you can become a champion is by beating the reigning champion or by winning a fight between the top two guys while the championship is vacant. He's never even been in the ring with a top 2 guy. The closest was #3 Ryan Garcia, but that was at a catchweight outside the division they were both ranked in.

Really couldn’t care less if he quit tomorrow. Was more of an interesting character than a great fighter. Thought he was very overrated and him and his team knew that six years ago when Loma offered him unbelievable money and opportunity. Davis no doubt in my mind, knew he had absolutely no chance and that’s when the non-dangerous, lighter weight, non power parade of opponents started. And it’s lasted 13 straight fights. Anyone or their team that has to talk and act the way they have over the years are no doubt frontin.

Depends what you define as Champion, to me its having the highest of ability, the one percenters, what you accomplish in trophies is on top of that defining legacy and fan appeal, where I come from a Champion is just being really really good in top competition, just because you dont beat a recognized great doesn't mean you cant, a fans view from outside is not the same as it is on the inside.
