Comments Thread For: Jaron Ennis again outpoints Karen Chukhadzhian in a fight to forget

A little under two years after Jaron "Boots" Ennis shut out Karen Chukhadzhian over 12 dreary, frustrating rounds in Washington, D.C., he repeated the feat in his hometown of Philadelphia on Saturday.

Something I failed to fully recognize till tonight - Ennis has absolutely zero defense. I don't know how long it has been since a top welterweight had zero defense but it has been a long time! If he turned into a Butterfly and flew into a dark auditorium, he would still not be able to avoid a punch! The more he blocks countless punches with his chin, that is going to have a long-term effect cause he overly relies on his chin and that is a really bad approach. He hangs his chin out like a man holding a lantern in the night.

I don’t see Crawford having a problem with boots at 147 or 154.

Karen landed his own fair share of clean, hard shots and I believe he even buzzed Boots a couple of times. The fight was a lot more give and take than the article portrays. At the end of the fight Boots said he wanted to go to 154 and I would say be careful of what you wish for. Boots has good whiskers but you would not want to test that chin against someone like Vergil Ortiz at 154 who can really baaannnggg. If Karen can hurt Boots due to his lack of defense, Ortiz, Madrimov and Murtazaliev would definitely have a field day landing bombs on his chin.

Good win but I think it’s only a matter of time before Boots gets exposed. In Boots, I still see a fighter who gets hit too much, too undisciplined and still unsure how he ‘ll react if his chin gets cracked by a power puncher. We 've pretty much seen these traits in all his fights against C level competition that stands up to him. It will be interesting to see how he copes with not been able to use his physicality against quality fighters.

That Ortiz fight been offered by Turki for February seem hella interesting now ‘cos honestly, they both look like the same fighter. They both try to impose size and go for the KO, both headstrong and gets hit easily. Let’s hope it happens but I certainly can't rate Boots as superiorly skilled than Vergil when I pretty much see same traits in both
. One thing crystal clear to me is that he needs to leave Bud the hell alone ‘cos he ‘ll be FOOD for Crawford in the late rounds. Too undisciplined to fight a cerebral fighter like Bud.

Crawford would counter him and pot shot him all day long.

Really good, strong contender but without any defense at all, the framework will fall apart when missing that one important ingredient; defense. No "it" factor because of that huge flaw.

Is this the same 'Boots' some of yall desperately wanted to watch against Bud? Lol I think even Ortiz has a legit chance of beating that ass with those kind of openings. Hes lucky Karen got feathers for fists. Boots aint no match even for 37 yo Bud. Sorry not sorry.

Crawford will crush this over hyped pretender, the arabs will pay well for the fight.

Will bread keep on defending this chump?
