Until promoters stop over paying these guys for no reason the sport cannot be fixed
Agreed. The Saudis arent really getting value for money with these cards. Just look at this weekends UFC for comparison (in Abu Dhabi but close enough and similar concept), it lost one of its biggest fights but is STILL basically a double (arguably triple) main event card with several other good fights besides. And the entire combined payroll for the whole 13 fight card is probably less than a third of Furys purse to fight Usyk. Its madness.

It managed to get fights that would've never happened if not for Turki, so that is a plus on its own. However as a result guys are willing to fight even less often they already were willing to, so they soon run out of fighters to use.

Of course, I'm sure factors like Joshua losing and such dented their plans too.

I don't really know, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. I definitely enjoyed the ride if we're already past the peak of this movement. Boxing definitely needs to find a sustainable path for boxers to fight more often and make these fights accessible to boxing fans.

Not the worst card ever, Moses is a prospect to watch, Fisher vs Allen will be a KO one way or the other, and Madrimov vs Boha is a quality fight.
To me it seems the Saudis like their heavyweight fights and they've put a lot of these matchups on their cards. This one has the main event, Fisher/Allen, and Itauma/McKean. Madrimov/Bohachuk isn't heavyweights but it's a great fight that should provide action.

It may be past its peak, or is it that they simply used up most guys Turki would be willing to pay to make a card?

Talking extreme, Bever-Bivol can't be used for a while regardless of rematch because they both just fought, ditto Opetaia. Crawford is on vacation until next year. Joshua royally lost to Dubois recently. Benavides-Morrell is already scheduled. Usyk-Fury 2 is the main event.

Whatever it is, let's just be happy with what they made happy and given us so far. The wild part is that there was so much expectations to put on other fights with the outcomes of various fights and most of those fell through. I guess that goes to show why a lot of promoters DO NOT make the fights we want to see because of this very reason.

I can say, I'm still a bit shocked with the outcome of Wilder-Parker, Wilder-Zhang and now AJ-Dubois. You could see Turki in his seat when Wilder and AJ got flatten where he's got almost this look like, "damn", so much for the fights we were looking forward to making.

Not a bad card but a cheap one by Saudi standards. The likes of Wilder, Parker, Ruiz, Dubois, Eubank Jr etc who all appeared on previous undercards likely all got paid more individually than this entire undercard combined.

Add a zero or close to and that would have been Crawford's minimum purse. He reportedly grossed 20 million plus for Spence he isn't get out of bed for 2.5 million US and there was no PPV upside for a nameless(but highly skilled) "Russian".
