Perhaps Rolly didn't underperform, perhaps he just isn't as good as he (and others) think he is.
Rolly should have caught an L against Marinez early in his career and we saw what it took for him to get the win against Barroso.
Exactly. He didn't underperform. This is his level. Rolly looked like an average fighter because he is an average fighter. A very well-connected and charismatic average fighter
Rolly went from headlining a main event against Tank, to the opening PPV fight when folks haven't taken their seats yet, lol. Talk about a fall from grace (not that he had much grace). I'm Okay with him doing this and trying to work his way back up. He shouldn't just immediately be given good fights because of the way he talks or looks if he doesn't perform or win anymore. Seeing how bad he looked at the bottom of the barrel in this fight, I'm not sure if Rolly already blew his load in terms of his boxing career.

More power to Rolly if he can parlay his unexplainable popularity into more marquee fights. I tend to think Rolly could be high on the list of comeback opponents for Ryan Garcia, IF he would be willing to move up to 147 or 154 in another year or so. Between his PED and WBC-racism bans, KingRy will probably return in 2025-26 as a full-blown middle weight, but, if he can still fight at 154 or less, Garcia-Romero could still be a highly marketable fight (if Rolly can stay out of the loss column).
Rolly had a couple of good wins against Sparrow and Yigit. He hasn't looked very good since. Not sure how much the Tank and Cruz losses took out of him but he is only 29 years old. Maybe Porter has a point. Time will tell.

Exactly. Romero is a perfect example of how some charisma, some internet savvy can make one maybe not exactly a world-class talent, a success. But as a boxer he is mediocre at best
