Comments Thread For: Naoya Inoue breaks down TJ Doheny, with date in America on the horizon

The "Monster" Naoya Inoue was left picking bits of TJ Doheny out of his teeth after savaging his prey in seven rounds inside Koto-Ku's Ariake Arena in Tokyo. Afterwards, it was confirmed by promoter Bob Arum that Inoue will next have his customary end-of-year fight in Japan before embarking on a date in America to open his 2025 campaign.

I just hope it's Akhmadaliev in December and not Goodman.

No real surprise but I thought Doheny was a credible opponent and showed veteran crafty skills and ring smarts.
It was a weird stoppage but Inoue was gonna KO him within the next two rounds anyway.
        Inoue showed great footwork, too.

Inoue said he try something a bit different. Doheny is dangerous from 1st couple rounds.

              I like the new approach.

Inoue was defensively sound, strategically minded.
After he softened the body for a few rounds, he went into DESTRUCTION MODE after.

Doheny had no business getting the fight. Embarrassing quit job.

I actually hope it's the other way around. Goodman in December in Japan, then Akhmadaliev in America in the spring. Goodman is a very credible opponent, being undefeated with wins over Doheny and Aleem. Akhmadaliev is better known in the west, and he would be the perfect opponent for Inoue, possibly in Las Vegas.

Doheny didn’t actually look bad, threw from decent angles and kept moving but Inoue literally beat the back off him in the end. Those punches in the last round sounded sickening when they landed.
