I'm kinda torn on this one being as though Joppy is a DC guy. I was front row center during the 90s for all the great MW fights that passed through DC. That was the beginning of the reign of the Xecutioner. I remember going to the Show place arena in Upper Marlboro, Md (right outside DC) to witness B Hop vs Andrew Council. I went to all the fights at the newly built MCI center (and DC armory) in downtown DC for years to watch the likes of William Joppy, Winky Wright, Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson, Maurice Blocker, Chop Chop Corley, Lamont Peterson, Keith Holmes, Sharmba Mitchell, Mike Tyson and many more. Those were the days. I was conflicted in this fight because although I was a HUGE Joppy fan I was always a Duran fan and couldn't believe a guy that was KOing people out in the 70s was still fighting for a world title in 1998. But I'll say now what I said then...if you get in that ring then you can expect to receive whatever that ring has to offer.
