I can appreciate sublime boxing skills displayed by Shakur, Floyd, Rigo, etc, but pro sports is about entertainment, and moreover, entertainment for the masses who spend money to watch exciting fights.

Pro boxing needs rule changes. So, a win is earned only via KO, TKO, or scoring more knockdowns if it goes the distance. Anything else is a draw. Runners and no-risk boxers who look to cruise to decisions will be stigmatized commercially by a record blemished with a high number of draws, e.g. 2-0-16. That last number would be a red flag to promoters and broadcasters who will, instead, favor big money contracts for the 16-0-2 fighter, or even a 16-2-0 athlete.

While we're at it, stictly enforce excessive holding (which is a detriment to entertainment value) with a disqualification loss.

The byproduct of this pro-system is the banishment of judges and their corruption, and the implemention of instant replay to ensure missed calls are reviewed publicly and corrected between rounds.

Shakur just isn't exciting to watch, because he's constantly leaning away from his opponent.
Fighting off the back foot diminishes his power considerably, and Artem caught him with quite a few punches in their fight.
I'm not interested in watching him fight against any of the other champions, or top rated fighters.
Which would probably encourage him to move more than usual in order to not get catch with any return fire.

He has the audacity to call another fighter out like that after his performance against DLS???? Nah, son….fall back with that. He still has DLS problems.
Bull****! Artem came to fight, and caught Shakur with quite a few punches in their fight.
If anyone came to fight it was Artem, Shakur came to counter punch, and it was enough for the win.

What boxing skills?? Those are African American ( or Cuban, still Afro ) boxers that think their running and holding is cool. Boxing is about fighting, resistance to punches, machismo. Glad we can see Mexican/ Latin boxers, Asians and Eastern Europeans who actually fight. Judges and referees let the Afros fighters do whatever they want in the ring, not even a warning for holding. In any other country, Maywweather would have been disqualified many times or lost at leas 7 times. Fans are tired of the pampering towards the Afro boxers due to American judges being scared of deducting points for fear of being called racists. Itīs on their minds.

Both THC and budfr are as prejudice (or racist) as they come. Boxing has a long respected history. It shouldn't be rewritten to pacify/satisfy folks who have a problem with styles or outcomes of bouts.

If you want it your way, go to Burger King!!!!

Can’t wait to see your thoughts - and I am being generous in using the word “thoughts” - when Terence Crawford stands in the center of the ring and uses his power, junkyard dog machoism and far superior boxing IQ to clean Canelo’s clock when they fight. And Crawford isn’t going to be in gentle cruise control as he does it, too, the way Mayweather was when he whipped the hero of all you nationalistic fanboys.

Shakur doesnt have sublime boxing skills, let alone comparable to Floyd, what a clown statement. He is sublime at avoiding getting hit, that is not sublime boxing skills. He has very basic boxing skills.

You can't just pigeonhole it on black fighters. No way. RJJ, Tyson and Ali, multiple black fighters of yesteryear had more skill and they dominated guys and stopped them. Crawford is the best fighter alive IMO right now and he humiliates very good fighters, busts them up and stops them.

Then you got your Plants and Billy Joe Saunder types, who are defense first.

I do love the general Mexican style of all out war, but not all Hispanic guys fight like that.

The be slick and never get hit or take chances really got popular with Floyd in the last part of his career. He was a phenom at the lower weights and stopped and hurt great fighters. When he got to WW he definitely didn't want to get KOd and he created the bad guy persona. Which was brilliant, but now you have Haney and Foster and Shakur, even Teo recently, etc.....many guys think they can do it and win belts and they can, but when the fans boo them and promoters can't sell them as names they act befuddled.

It's a bloodsport with a history of wars and glory and honor. Built on the back of fighters who were ready to die in the ring for glory. These days guys are worried about messing up their hair or getting hit with a soft jab.

This guy is a modern racist, I call them neo-racists.

There is nothing in this fight that has anything to do with race … and yet these angry doofuses think a boxing site is a great place to share how they feel about a particular race.
