    on a side note

why not just do away with draining yourself of water altogether

just design a system that makes it not just not worth it, timings of weigh in etc

Crimson, I agree about getting fight night weigh ins! That is much more telling IMO, than just the weigh in.
If you notice, we used to get more fight night weights, until Floyd, who seemed to start a trend, began to refuse to step on the scales before the fight. I fee like if this were implemented, it would dictate where a fighter’s weight class should really be, it would help the sport overall. At least the IBF, unless it’s a unification bout, keeps it somewhat fairer, if that is a word we can use, by giving the morning of weigh ins. They just need to make a slight change to help all involved.

ONE championship has made a good faith attempt at it for their events. Weeklong hydration and weight checks. I prefer it when people fight closer to their walking weights.

unfortunately the rules in place allow these things. you cut weight enough to make a weight class then your good. I've been around and a part of a few boxers cutting weight and wrestlers cutting weight and alot of times that is harder than the matches themselves. this has really came on strong because ppl don't want tank to step up. but on other hand call for Inoue to come up fight tank. very interesting these things don't hinder Usyk one bit. I for same day weigh ins and also 15 rd fights again. but we get neither. so...

            yes

i mean they weigh jockeys before they got on the horse to make sure things are correct

why not stick boxers on a scale before they enter the ring, its not like they will be hydrating during the fight and getting bigger lol

maybe there are good reasons for doing certain things

            but

put in a rule that if u are over weight at this before fight weighin then u forfeit a % of your purse, money talks, if u abuse the system then noone will fight u lol

i refuse to believe better systems cant be made and put into play

I'm not sure of the science but I think that's why they changed from same day weigh-ins in the first place.

It's always personal responsibility but if/when a fighter gets brain damage against an A sider or anybody else, people probably will question wether any rehydration clause contributed.

They will be taking heavier shots but that's pretty normal anyway. For example at heavyweight or when fighters move divisions. Plus some guys hit a lot harder than other even if they're the exact same weight.

Commission's will have to decide what they think is more dangerous. X amount of weight difference vs potentially of dehydration and the risks associated.

That would be ideal yeah. Probably not simple but hopefully doable.

this weight check thing is very important

i mean we have drug checks, great what about weight checks to make sure u are fighting at your correct weight, random checks as well & then one last check pre fight, no water involvement whatsoever seems to me anyway, maybe something is missing someone will chime in with tho

As long as both fighters step on the scale within minutes of one another and they both make weight

                    much ado about nothing

Bring back same day weigh-ins. And 15-round championship fights.
