Is "Australian style" the worst style in the sport of boxing.

The style seems to consist of very little movement, poor defense, average punching power and output, and moving back and forth in straight lines.

Boxing isn't big there due to the small population in Australia and New Zealand. Under 31-32 million people in total if you count them both.

Compare it to the US, Mexico and EU - if you want to be big in the game, it's best to head overseas for the best sparring partners and training available. Those who succeeded from the either countries usually head over, like Parker, Tua, Israel Adesanya, and many other notable famous Australians and New Zealanders.

Considering their population they massively overachieve tbh, they've had a decently strong presence in MMA and kickboxing as well and obviously they're elite at both forms of rugby and cricket. Not bad for a country with a comparable population to Florida.

True. They have a small population and boxing is not a big sport down under. So, all things considered, the Aussies seem to be punching above their weight.
