By the way, what are your thoughts on this match up? Gvozdyk is a thudding big puncher, but he isn't a one punch knockout fighter, he wins through punch accumulation like Benavidez. the Ukranian can box pretty well either backward and forward, but he isn't as slick defensively and mobile as let's say Andrade and Plant.

So this is a style that Benavidez can unleash his combinations from the get-go rather relying on loaded punches to slow his opponents down.

I believe David will showcase he has overall better defense than most are willing to admit. Whether it's the active Winky Wright like high guard or through slipping punches via waist/head movement like he did with big punchers in Lemieux (aware he declined and a middleweight, still a strong puncher though)( (43-4, 36 KOs) and Alexis Roamer Angulo (26-1, 22 KOs) who was a top contender at the time that upset a well touted former Mayweather prospect Anthony Sims Jr (20-0, 18 KOs). He was a gatekeeper who never got a belt at 168 like Anthony Yarde is at 175 though he lacked the experience of fighting a elite opponent like Kovalev even if it was a knockout loss.

I think you are mistaking having fans for credit. Pitbull got the biggest crowd response walking into the ring last week as the non belt holding comain participant I believe. Munguia's stoppage over a guy who went 12 with Canelo should buy him some credit. Very few non #1 guys in boxing are overrated & idk if any of those mentioned are. I think most fans just wanna see the fooking fights & aren't THAT invested in who wins.

Things that he does works at 168 but against a fully fledged LHW it is not going to be as easy.

Cool so you admit you were wrong? You don't realize David is 5th on compubox for defense right? Do your research before spouting myths next time.

Gvozdyk is over 35 years old. Are you of all people, after all your whining and b.itching about fighters beating up on over 35 year olds going to give Benavidez credit? Or are you going to be a hypocrite about it?

Some amount for sure, cause Gvozdyk is just better technically, better legs, has better punch selection, smarter cause of the amateur background, was just better boxer all around at his peak

Compubox does not mean anything at this stage of Benny's career.

David Morrell has been calling DB out. Same weight class. Same promoter. Sr said they’d fight him if no Canelo 2 fights ago. Now it’s “that fight deserves to be for a title fight” but you all want Canelo to lose to David so bad you excuse the ducking of Morrell. I’m not defending Canelo, I’m saying that if you apply a logic to 1 fighter u have to apply it to the next.
