I think there are stipulations when the fight has to happen which from what was reported, it needed to happen before end of 2023 unless both camps agree otherwise and extenuating circumstances. I don't think it is as simple as been kept in limbo if he isn't a willing participant. I think he just isn't motivated for another fight that isn't of that caliber so instead of taking that risk, he's content to just sit around and wait for it.

Bud I got much love for you. I been a fan since early in ur career when u had dreads lol. I agree ppl been running scared for years, making up excuses that only applied to u, saying u ain't fought no one while being unwilling to fight u themselves, saying u was on the wrong side of the street, that u can't sell flies, can't put asses in seats, talking that A-side, B-side hoe sh..t, saying there's no $ in a fight with u, and the list goes on. He became ur mandatory and u won't face him, so he was awarded one of ur belts. It's now confirmed. The Spence-Crawford rematch don't have any definite date. Bud Crawford, who is supposed to raise hell, is just okay with it. But nobody can deny Crawford can fight other fights any time he wants to without being saddled with this rematch obligation. Only missing part is Spence's making things official like if it's not happening within 6 months, then say so. Or the rematch not happening at all, etc..

He started making excuses the night after the fight, after being busted and beaten up, "my timing was off".
Later as time passed and he healed more, he hinted that, it was not him who entered the ring that night.
Now, he just went in full denial mode, "I had eye surgery before the fight, I was weight drained, and my shoes were un-tied...."

He is a fraud and a money grabber if he went into the fight knowing he had MAJOR health issues.

Crawford, Canelo and many fighters should not read all the comments on social media. Just listen to the experts when greatness is being discussed--the rest have axes to grind. Crawford has beat them all, many by KO. He is a sneaky switch-hitter who figures fighters out and solves the puzzle. He is a new breed of fighter and belongs on the list with Chavez, Duran, Leonard, etc.

A 100% never car wrecked Spence Jr. would not have beaten Crawford. There are skill levels here. Bud showed that he was levels above Spence in every area. There is no better version of Spence that could have beaten Bud unfortunately. He looked super limited against Crawford and just goes to show how good he is.

People already spoke that Bud didn't look like he got out of maybe 1st, 2nd gear for the entire fight. If a better Spence was available, then what? Crawford has to put in a little more effort? Get into 3rd, MAAAAAYBE 4th gear? He never hits 5th or 6th.

Bud is only looking for big money fights. That boots fight doesn't sell more than 150k. There are better opportunities out there for Bud where he can get a nice payday. The Boots fight is only for the hardcore fans. You can't look at it from that perspective, you gotta put yourself in Bud's shoes, i know that's hard for some of yall.

Bud will fight Pacquiao next, thats my guess. Pacquiao already called him out a couple times since the spence fight
